Pure Joy
Today, I took my Crossfire out of the garage and drove it to work. It is not a nice day, very foggy but the temperature is going to rise to 11 degrees (52F). It has been stored for 4 months! I had it out for a brief time on Saturday but we had snow yesterday.
I had forgotten what a joy it is to drive this car fast, to feel it accelerate so promptly when I touch the gas. I drove only slightly above the speed limit but it was so much fun driving to work, listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn, I can't stop smiling.
I have been driving a 91 Jeep Cherokee all winter. Nobody lets you merge when you are in a Jeep. In the Crossfire, people slow down very quickly to let me slip in, it was quite a pleasant change.
I love my car....

Mine has been in the garage for about a month. I bought it only two months ago. Drove it today and it was so sweet. I've been tied up with my wife's illness and running to doctor after doctor. Spent last week in Rochester, MN. at Mayo's Wife will be getting Chemo treatments and I will be able to drive the XF on occasion. The love of my life, my wife of 40 years, comes first.

My 57 yr old mother spent the last year and a half under chemo, surgery, CAT scans, PET scans, the whole bit. Had her stomach mostly removed, some lymph nodes removed, and neo-pouch/intestinal bypass to enable her to eat/digest food. The first year was hardest for my father who was the primary caregiver. Best help for my mother was being surrounded by the support of her friends. Cancer treatment changed her a lot physically and was difficult emotionally, but she got good treatment at Vanderbilt. Now she is doing pretty well, cancer free (thank God), and does about 90% of the things she used to before surgery.
I've heard good things about Mayo in Rochester, also I think it's awesome that you are taking good care of your wife. I really respect my dad for the way that he took care of his wife, I respect you too for doing the same!!
