black tape around top boot
hello,
the black tape that goes around the back boot is getting screwed up ..
it seems as if it wrinkles up as the top goes up and down. i have seen this on several crossfires. does anybody have any suggestions - am i doing something wrong?

My car has the issue of the tape being faded on the part that is visible when the roof is closed. The car sat in dealerships and on lots for almost two years before I purchased it last July (it's a 2005 model). The car is still under warranty - think I'd have a problem getting a dealer to warranty the part?

Mine's faded and peeling. '05 roadster. Tried armor all and it didn't work to restore the color. Heard back to black doesn't work too well either but someone on here said to use black wax shoe polish and that works for a while. Haven't tried it yet though.

follow these steps....clean tape with rubbing alcohol..apply 2 or 3 coats of Turtle Wax Ice to tape ....this product will not leave white residue on tape and is great for your paint as well. this worked well for me. Hope it helps you.

This tape is called Scotchcal film, and is made by 3M. Perhaps you could check with 3M and see if they have ay suggestions on how to prevent the fading. I believe the Mopar part number is 1-05104937AA
