Roadster rag top & lint hair and other stuff...
Something about the construction of the roadster ragtop makes it pull lint off the (no lint) cloth I use to do the windows. Rag works fine on windows, but leaves an endless string of tiny cotton hairs from the cloth when I wipe it (the top) down with water.
What do you use to wipe down the top on your roadsters please?
Thanks, popeye

And about the "Insist" thing-
"There is nothing common about common sense. It is the rarest of commodities".
I use the same waffle weave microfiber towels that I use to dry the rest of the car and I just blot it dry. You shouldn't be using terry cloth on the paint anyway.

Nothing keeps the scratches away better. (drop a mf on a dried leaf and you might as well throw it away, even after washing there are pieces stuck in them that will scratch)
BTW: Meguair's sells a decent terry towel.
Waffle weave is the best for drying save the terry for polishing.
Hi,
If any lint or fibres are on the rag top after it has dried, I simply use one of those lint-rollers (as used to remove hairs and fibres from black clothing). A couple of minutes with that on the roof and job done.
Steve.

You should use nothing but a QUALITY Micro Fiber cloth.......especially on a black car.
Armor All makes one that is not to bad, but even with that I mostly just lay it on top and rub my hand over it w/o moving the towel too much. Seems to work. You could always go over it with a lint roller.
RaggTop cleaner, rinse well and dry with water absorbing chamois and then RaggTop protectant at least once a year.
Lint roller takes care of stray fuzz and debris.

Ben
I use RaggTop cleaner and protector. Though my top has only been wet a couple of times, once dry, I use one of those 3M lint rollers as mentioned.
Greetings & Happy New Year to everybody...
Has anyone tried using a wet/dry vacuum cleaner to remove lint hair and other debris. Just wondering if it will harm the top in anyway. Hate to find out the hard way!
Thanks

If the top does become soiled you should use something like RaggTopp cleaner or Meguiar's Canvas Cleaner and proceed lightly with a very soft brush. After the top dries fully follow up with Ragg Topp or Meguiar's Canvas Protectant.
I use the Meguiar's products and have even been able to remove tree sap from my roof with just a spray of plain water and a microfiber towel.
A good lint roller also works on the package tray. I don't know about yours but my vacuum still leaves debris. The lint roller gets all that up, it also comes in handy if you want to quickly do your floor mats.

Thanks For the info..especially about the Meguiars. I have two Sebring Conv. but they both have vinyl tops. The Crossfire is my first fabric top..would have never thought about a lint roller..Thanks again.
