Default Convertible tops

Has anyone had success on keeping the top BLACK ? Mine is starting to show sign of sun-bleach and is there a product out there that folks have used to be proven to keep the BLACK color of the top? There has to be some way to recondition the top back to BLACK....it's a shame to have a nice shine Black care ...with a sun bleached top..........................hump !!

I used the Ragtgtop on mine. It sat for 3 years in the florida, connecticut sun before I got it. Looks great now.

I agree, this stuff works. Recovered the color of a friends Z4 gray/tweed top very nicely.

RaggTopp is hands down my choice for keeping my top clean and black. Plus water bead right off with the protectant.

I read where RaggTopp is tested and endorsed by HAARTZ/Happich the designated supplier of convertible topping fabric for Mercedes Benz.

For what it is worth, i have used the raggtopp, and 303 protectant, The 303 beads better and lasts longer.

You all are a KICK !! LOL. Just order Raggtop. I've been reading about 303. Maybe next time I'll give it a try. I have the roadster and mitsubishi Eclipes Syyder GTS (wife's car) to do. Both are convertables.... Only true test..is one you do yourself. Thanks for the great info everyone...

Just to throw this out there - Meguiar's makes a pair of products in the Marine line called M71 Canvas Cleaner and M72 Canvas Protectant. The cleaner is a trigger spray, the protectant is an aerosol which is the same packaging combo as the Ragg Topp stuff. We forumulated these products to be used on canvas biminis found on boats that sit out in the marina all day, all year, for many years. The cleaner can be sprayed on, agitated and wiped off - you don't even need to rinse it (makes it much easier for boat owners). The protectant beads water like mad. You can usually find these two at larger boating suppy stores like Boaters World, West Marine, etc.

Just an option.

Wonderful !!! just applied the RAGGTOPP this weekend. What a difference !! The biggest difference was seen on the wife's Mitsubishi Eclipes Spyder GTS. WOW.......... first rain will tell. But that was easy to apply.

I think that all the members will agree:

A garage SHOULD come as standard equipment with these cars.

Think of all the elbow grease they would save...

Live in Seattle for the year and your top will look as new as the day bought your car! Sunshine makes rare appearances in the summer, so when it does, it's top down for me...no sun fading allowed!

My daughter...sooo beautiful!

Just a little suggestion regarding finish care in general, not just for the convertible top:

Preventative maintenance is always much, much easier than trying to restore something once it's gotten bad. Regular applications of either the RaggTopp or Meguiar's protectants will serve you much better than waiting for the top to get so bad you end up trying a dozen things to try and restore it. Same goes for paint, rubber, leather, etc.

People always complain about how much work it is to wax and detail their car, but they complain even louder when things deteriorate and then a simple wipe on/wipe off product won't magically restore things.
