Man, I learn something NEW every time I read through these posts!! Thanks for the info about the "rest" button..... also, in regards to the leaking, I have a 2005 Roadster LTD and it DOES leak a bit in heavy rain. One question I have tho, whats the best way to wash a Roadster?? Touchless? Hand-wash? and does the convertible top need any special care? I'm hoping to park my beauty for the winter as I live in the country and just don't want to risk banging it up on poorly maintained roads when we get snow and ice. My 2nd vehicle is a Dodge ram truck. Thanks in advance, VxFire

There's alott said about a product called " RaggTopp". Google it. It's comes in a kit with a wash and conditioner. It's HANDS DOWN good stuff.

I've always hand washed mine. I don't like the "automatic" car washes. Too much water pressure will get under the edge of the top...so I may use one of those with the WAND $0.25 per minute thingies...just to wash off heavy build up... but the best way I've found is plain old hand wash.

Ask your dealer in how to clean your roadster. I don't have a roadster but I have my dodge ram parts handwashed, for a few bucks more than a regular car wash cost.

Where is the "REST" button? This is the first time I've heard of it. Also what is it supposed to do?
Thanks .... Popeye

Funny how many of us started out in coupes and moved to roadsters. I have one of each and have toyed with buying one of every color. Runing out of garage space and besides the real reason is some one else in my house may raise a fit at that. You can only push your luck so far. Some of you may understand that.

I am looking for a roadster SRT. Once you go topless you never want to go back. I say that because I bought my first roadster in 1971 and have owned one ever since. Like someone above said Just do it and you will never look back.

PS The Xfire is the car I love to drive in either configuration.

I just went from a coupe to a roadster and love it.
There's no leaks, but pretty much all soft top convertibles eventually have minor problems due to frame shifting or if it's been in an accident. Mine has no leaks.

They are very good in the Winter.

Yes and in fact there's a lot of people who have purchased a second Crossfire.

I can tell you from experience that the top and the frame that holds it together is tough and strong as nails. I slowly backed into my garage door that was at a height that caused it to run across the glass and up to about one third of the cloth top before I said "oh crap" and stopped. The top has some almost invisible scratch on the glass and a un-noticeable mark near the top of the cloth. But the real loser was the garage door. I had to bend it back straight as it was a half circle after the xfire top got through with it.... The top still works just as good as when it was new....before I forgot to look to see if the garage door was half open....

Not to worry about anything breaking in that top... Popeye

Well, after 20+ months of ownership of a roadster, the top has been rock solid. Just apply 303 fabric guard every now and then, keep it in the garage, and it lasts fine. I haven't had the rear window falling out issue yet (knock on wood).

I echo itskys comments on the rock solid top...i just had my 3 year anniversery of owning my 06 roadster in March and not a single issue. There was a comment a while back about a vertical crease above the rear window and concern that the top was rubbing on something...i can tell you that the top is not rubbing on anything and it is just the way the top folds down for storage.

Take a good look at the seal around the back window before you buy the roadster though. Mine's falling out and I've seen that the issue is fairly common with other 2005's.

I have 73,000 on my 2005 Roadster and right now (that's the key word...NOW) there's no sign of the glass window falling or any seams separating. I have the canvas type top not the plastic (not sure plastic was available then....) I live in Alabama and it gets pretty HOT down here. Now what I have been doing is paying close attention to water seal, making dog gone sure I get it within soak up area of the canvas. I'll drive the car with the window cracked down some...but never fully down to lessen the baffle effects. But honestly !! 73,000 and no sign of drop out or separation here in the deep south...

Oh wanted to add... I started out using another top brand but have switched to the 303 sealer...WONDERFUL STUFF. Expensive, but you get what you pay for..... Nuff...back out for other comments.

I have always wondered if the members who reported problems with the rear window seal failing were using some sort of fabric protectant that penetrated the canvas and destroyed the bond between the glass and the top...I live in VA and it gets darn hot here and I have had no issues either...
