Question Another Top Question - Back Latch Latching Twice

Trying to figure if this is "normal" or not.

When I put the top up, finger holding down the button, the back latch (under the rear window) seems to latch once then I here a single beep, but the back comes back up just a little about a 1/4". If I stop take my finger off the switch as soon as I hear the beep the top remains not closed.

However if I continue to hold the switch after it comes back up that little bit it continues to latch properly and I hear another beep, pull the front down an lock, double click the top button again and windows close, all is well.

Being that I have only had the XFire for a little over a month I am wondering if this is normal to like latch twice or am I doing something wrong.

Thanks,

Hmm, I've had my roadster for a month and it does not act like that when putting the top up.

So then I am guessing the latch mechanism need some kind of adjusting?

Any one know where I could find these instructions as the 2004 Service Manual found here on this site seems to be for a coupe, hmmm now that I am thinking about ... the Roadster didn't come out till 05 Downloading the 06 SRT manual ... hopefully??

I don't believe so, as it is passed the 36 months, and all I was able to transfer was the Power Train. But think I'll double check as the dealer I bought it from gave me 90 days, and I also ended up with another 3rd party warrantee.

I was just thinking it might just be a simple adjustment..

I briefed through the 2006 manual on the top, and from what I read there doesn't appear to be any mechanical adjustments to the latch. When I visually inspected the bow latch assemblies pretty much confirms that as it seems to just bolt in place.

With further reading of the manual seems like it may be one of the sensors, or the Power Top Control Module. But it looks like in order to determine which, one has to start out having to use the tester that the dealer has.

I found this TBS here on the forum, but no info on what it entails.
TBS: 18-Oct-05 - 23-042-05 - Body - Convertible Top Deck Lid Malfunctions I guess I could call the dealer and ask if it's related?
