Default Transmission issue

The transmission in my 2005 has slipped into neutral on hard acceleration and/or hard braking. I have to shift to neutral, shut off the car, then restart it. Very dangerous on entry ramps to x-ways!

Anyone else having this problem???

Neither of my MT6s has this problem and it does not sound normal. I can accelerate hard enough (at least around corners) to squeal the tires.

I wouldn't wait to long to get an answer on this type of problem and get it into the shop. Good luck!

I have the same problem JGator. I have an excellent foreign auto mechanic that is going to look at for me. As mine is an 05 roadster and out of warranty he is my best bet. Not to mention the Dealer is worthless.
It can be a little unnerving when merging. I'll post if i find out what exactly the fix is and please do the same.

Do you have an automatic and if so do you have a sprint booster installed? If you do its probably the sprint booster causing it. I've had the same problem and it will only happen when you hit the kick down switch on the floor.

I have a 05 Roadster with AT as well. At about 12k miles had this very same issue and it was not good. Dealer had the car for 2+ months. Rebuilt the tranny 3 different times over that period and each time did not correct the problem. Chrysler even sent someone to dealership to work on the issue and they couldn't resolve. Finally replaced the entire transmission and converter and problem resolved. 6K miles later still no problem. According to dealer, $8,500 job. Sorry for the bad news but that was my experience. One other possible cause is low trans fluid. Understand these things are very sensetive to fluid variations. Dealer has to check, no stick.
