Default remote control problems

okay anyone ever have this problem before... it seems there may be something faulty with my remote. every time i try to use it to lock or unlock my car i need to tap it a few times against my hand or my leg in order to get it to register. i feel like it may be a loose wire, but it was working for the first few weeks without any problems, than all of the sudden this....any ideas on what i can do to fix it?
thanks

Have you tried to reinsert the batteries or replace them? Maybe the contact is dirty on the inside? There is a thread somewhere where someone has cracked open the remote to actually move the guts to a new fob.
