Motha%&$%
OK! so now that ive tried a hundred MOTHA-LOVIN times....maybe u guys can help!
I recently just purchased my first convertible.
Which is the 05 Crossfire. Now everything is great...except! I cant seem to get the God damn top down! so this is what im doing and let me know if i am wrong.
1. I go to trunk and "unvelcro" the divider and put it up. Then close the trunk
2. I obviously turn the car on and lower the windows
3. I Unlatched the top and give it a little lift.
4. I push the button.....andddddddd
All it does is F^*& Beep! Nothing happens nothing moves.
So after reading the manual 3Gazillion times. I think i may know the problem. YOU TELL ME.
Ok so with the windows up....when i push the button to unlatch the top. SHouldnt the windows lower automatically once I hit the button?
and since it isnt...could it be the sensor in the handle that operates that button that is preventing the top from giong down And just beeping?

Until that happens, it will only beep whenever you push the switch.

I believe he is saying that the windows don't go down when he releases the handle and pushes the top up. If this is the case its probably the switch in the passenger side top where the hook goes in the top of the windshield. I have the same problem when the weather is cold or cool, when it is warm I don't have a problem. Try turning the release handle push up and if the windows don't go down pull it back down without latching it and push it back up again. Do this several times and see if the windows go down. If they do then proceed to push the button to put the top down. I had the top of the windshield apart to try and fix the switch but it just sticks sometimes(usually when cold) and needs to be replaced. I hope this helps your problem. Pat

pffffffffff..lol
I just bought this car for 10k wiht 60k miles...its beautiful. the top is the only problem so far. I can deal with it.
I just wanna fix it
I did. until I followed the steps outlined in Posts 2, 4, 5.
Also, be sure you are lifting the top high enough when you un-buckle it.
Check your manual and see where the fuses are. Check them also.
If your trunk lid isn't closed all the way, the top won't work also. Check that switch as well.
These cars hav e a lot of switches and limiters and warning beeps and ..............interlock stuff. They can be annoying.
Interestingly, the equipment reliably runs great because it is protected by interlocks that don't. Like a troublesome toilet, sometimes the easy fix is to just jiggle something.
I know, Annoying.

I have only had a problem with the top when I had taken down the divider panel to use the full trunk. It absolutely is sensitive to being in the right position. You have to lift it up a little to make sure it engages in the two upside down hooks that the pegs fit into (don't know how else to describe them). If it slumps down from the hooks, it doesn't make contact and the top won't go down.
I will admit, after watching the top go down on the demo car I drove, I opted for the extended warranty just for that. I have faith in the reliability of the drive train and just about everything else but those zillion cables and switches and folding parts. Not that a Chrysler mechanic will know anything about them in a couple more years!

I've never had a problem. But I mostly leave the divider panel in the top down mode just to avoid sensor connection problems. I rarely drive it with the top up anyway.
welll I Pulled a Fonzy!
I was so pissed that i punched the handle while attempting to open the top....THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ...the wondows rolled down.
I lifted up my brow the light bulb turnt on...and i hit the convertible button... AND GUESS WHAT! it started to go down.
Im guessing a sensor was loosed and I knocked it inot place...what ever the situation is.. IM glad i was able to enjoy the top down today.
Now only if i punch the **** out of my steering wheel..i wonder if the HOrn will start working?
