Default I found Little Debbie!

Ok, actually, Deborah Walker found her and sent me a link to an ad last night. It sounded like evertyhing I wanted: 2005 Roadster, Limited, Red, 13,000 miles, manual trans for just under $18,000.

I get there, and she's an AUTOMATIC! Well, truth is, I was not totally sure I wanted a stick - had some reservations about it - normally NEVER want an auto, but remembered thinking about this when driving everyone's Crossfire at the meet 2-3 weeks ago.

Anyway, test drive went well, the carfacts report confirmed one local owner who lives about 10 miles from the dealership. No reports of any damage or anything. One oil change at 7400 miles and one "check" of the radio system around 3450 miles or so.

So, I was obsessing on the fact it was an auto - and I drove it with the top up 'cause I'd never driven a Roadster with the top up. I was getting uncomfortable with the whole deal when the salesman said the ad's statement: "No Warranty" was in error. He printed a report detailing that I'd have: 36 months on drive train, 18 months on perforation and 48 months on "federal emissions". I was encouraged but still just could not understand why I was so irritated or worried.

The salesman was busy with paperwork - so I grabbed the keys and went outside. Getting the manual out, I lowered the top. As soon as I heard the motors and stuff, and as the sun hit my neck, I smiled ear to ear. THIS was what the car was about - it was a convertible!!! I drove around the lot with the top down and played a bit. Overall, I returned to the building in about 4-5 minutes. This car was indeed "Little Debbie"!!!! The salesman tried to arrange it so I could drive her home - but I froze my credit last fall - and it will take me, I guess, to at least monday morning to thaw it. I SHOULD be able to go get her monday!

She sure is pretty - a fire engine red convertible! (Well, to my eyes, that is her color, but I DO sometimes have a hard time seeing some reds and greens!) WHen I go to the Breakfast on Sunday in Savannah this 19th, I will be driving the prettiest Crossfire there!!!!!

Good luck with your purchase, you will love it. But I hope it really isn't "fire engine red". How about Inferno Red, or as mine, Blaze Red?

Good luck.....Hope you get the car!

Roadster's rule....no matter what. You'll get a LOT of stares with the top down.....get used to it.

BTW....It's unfortunate that it's not a 6 speed.......but the auto version is still a lot of fun! Get a Magnaflow exhaust system and you'll fall completely in love with driving.

Ok, now you filled me with questions: How many $? And just what will it sound like?

As to the auto - I REALLY think that, had it been a stick, I'd not as been so unsure about buying it (a feeling that went away when I put the top down), but I'd STILL have wondered, "Maybe I should have found an auto". I am traditionally a stick man - but must admit that there ARE reasons for the auto. The car IS so much fun in any form - but certainly in the Roadster form!!!!

Mine appears to be the color of itsky's.

There's a little bit of "drone" if you want to call it that. Mostly it goes away after a while driving the car. I've had mine on for quite a while and it's pretty tame now.

I'll let you take it for a spin at Woodward if you want, you can see for yourself if you like it or not.
