Hey, everyone; I'm looking at used '05 Crossfires. In doing some research, I came across a website for reliability that states shock/strut replacement on these cars is nearly $6K. Here's the link: 2004-2008 Chrysler Crossfire: Reliability - Consumer Guide Automotive

Does that make sense???? Seems outrageous.

Tranny leak-$200 Ask Waldig (free)

Exhaust-It's STAINLESS STEEL! It'll last a long time

Shock/Struts- WOW!

Brakes $110 pad upgrade/$350 rotor upgrade. OEM $200

All the rest-sounds about the same as my '03 Tahoe.

 

I found the shocks/struts on ebay for $125-$200. Makes me wonder what the labor rate would be to install if they're $6K total.

 

With bad info like that you wonder why Chrysler couldn't sell them.

 

That photo is captioned as a 08 Crossfire but it looks more like an 05 SRT-6 judging by the wheels and the wing in back.

 

That $5850.00 got my attention, so I talked to the Chrysler dealer this AM. Struts are 438.00 for four, labor is about 300.00. Figure I got was 741.55, four struts installed. Don't know how Consumer Guide came up with their figure.

 

Geez for that much you could have a air bag or low ride hyd system. Or a least an adjustable coil over system . . . . . I would think......

 

These are all good to hear; as someone said, information posted like this could not have helped the XFire sales- - -

I have no dam struts???????? My srt only has shocks and springs - why do things like this happen to me?????

I have swapped my springs and pulled them to shim them for different tire / wheels about a dozen times --------no struts.

WTH I am tired of being ripped off, I want my struts for autocrossing............Poop

BTW my 4 KONI shocks are about 600$$$ I seem to be missing a zero somewhere.......
