Default Brake Dust Shields

has anyone ever used dust shields on their car? i have the so called dustless pads, but the front brakes still produce more dust then i am comfortable with. [ Kleen Wheels ] makes them for our cars, any thoughts?

I think 05XF-LVR has/had them.

Can't vouch for them one way or the other, but the Autosport catalog has them even less expensive.

I put on Posi Quite Ceramic pads and for the past 3 months have had virtually no dust. As well they are great for stopping. Factory pads were a constant mess.

shark067 used/uses them. The only concern I would have is the heat could be trapped behind them and I don't think you want that. I think he put some vents in them to help keep it from getting too hot.

I've used them for about 10 years on various cars. Kleen Wheels brand ONLY are direction specific with slotted vents to force air through them onto the rotor. They actually help cool.

Bought a pair of front Kleen Wheels for my SSB Coupe, they really looked awful, didn't install them, threw 'em in the trash avoiding the return hassle.

I bought Rotex Gold brake pads (front and back) on eBay and have been really happy with them - no brakedust at all...big improvement.

Eric,

Kell just replaed his rotors which had warped from highheat. Of course, unlike you and me, he drives like a crazy fool. Stiil, i would be concerned about them if I was to be an aggressive driver.

my two Dongs worth.

The final thing I did before replacing my coupe with my newer roadster is, I replaced the rear pads with ceramic pads from NAPA, they did not make them for the front.
No muss, no fuss, kept my rear wheels clean and shiny.
On the shields, they could work well, if they kept the rotor cool but I'd be afraid of bulidup from the dust on the reverse side, besides you can't see your calipers.
My thoughts only!!
