Default Texas Motor Speedway LED Headlight MOD

I was at the Texas Motor Speedway this week for the Laps for Charity event. What a great event. Check out my pics in the Gallery.
While there I saw several cars with LED lights under the headlamps and would like to make that mod myself.

Is there anyone who can tell me where to go to get them and give installation instructions?

I apologize if there is already a thread to this but I have searched for a while and could not find one.

Thanks,

Jeff

If you are talking about the Audi-esque LED under the headlights then yes it has been brougght up several times. I don't know if there are any install instructions, but I remember seeing a crossfire having them donoe and in all honesty I didn't think it looked up to par by any means.

Keep searching you will find it eventually.

Are you referring to LED's like these?

I saw a couple cars with them as well at TMS. This photo is from cassidyrj1's gallery.

YES! That is what I am referring too! Where can I find those lights and do they require any special wiring?

Ok, I'll admit. That looks a lot better than some of the other ones I have seen.

Now if there is a write up on installation I will be even more impressed. Well done Cassidyjr1

Hi Jeff! I have those lights, we were right behind you in my Graphite Roadster and I had them turned on. It's pretty simple to do and I will post how tomorrow.
Take a look at my gallery to see photos of my headlights.

Install many ways. If you can get thru firewall, put in cigar lighter (power outlet).Right now I have mine with alligator clips to pos/neg battery terms. Only temporary.

I had the Black SRT roadster there Saturday with them on. Heres the site I bought them at. Real cheap and easy to install! Just push them in between the gap between your headlight and your bumper. The strip is encased in a rubber tube and very flexible. I spot siliconed mine in just in case! I spliced them into my side marker lamp wiring and come on when I turn them on. Another good place to tie them into is your fog lamp wiring if you want them just when you have those on. The wiring is easier to get to also.just go through the little panel in your inside fender well and just use those splice clips they make so you dont have to cut your wires ..Mikenewb

I couldnt figure out how to reference the thread above so I just copied and pasted the link. I was going to take a pic earlier of my setup but it was too dark this morning. This link has the instructions I followed when I first put my lights in. This is the website where I ordered them:
LEDs - Ribbon Thin, Flexible, Waterproof & Bright LED Strips

Like they said above, they are pretty easy to install. Just trim to the length you want. Push them between the headlamp assembly and bumper bringing the wires under and through the inside corner of the headlight. From there, we just soldered them to the parking light wires. We didnt have to remove the headlight or anything. The only problem I have had since then is my "bulb indicator light" is on. I know there is a way to fix this but I havent had time to research it.
Hope this helps!
Paige

Oh they posted the fix! Real easy one too! Mine came on when I did my HID bulb installs. They dont draw as much current as the normal bulbs so the car thinks theres a problem. Theres not, its just pulling less voltage. The fix is simple! put a small piece of electrical tape over the indicator light! Taa Daaaa! No more light! Ive forgotten about mine and didnt remember til you asked! :-) Mike

Thanks for your reply to my post. I look forward to making this mod to my Crossfire. I had a great time at the event in Dallas as did my wife and daughters!
