I have been following this site for about 5 months. I had looked at two light blue 2004 coupes with less than 3 K. miles. One was a 6 spd, the other had the 5 spd auto. Price was 16,900 for either car. I stopped a t a local Chrysler dealer and they had a new silver metallic roadster in their showroom. Sticker price was 41,690 and I left with the car for 24,930 including all taxes etc. The car had 68 miles on the odometer and came with all the warrranties. I want to thank this forum for answering the questions that I had before I purchased the X-Fire. I do, however, have one question pertaining to the top operation. Can you stop the top movement at any point when lowering it? Will this damage anything with the top mechanism? I got the feeling from the manuall that once you start lowering the top you should lower it completely until you hear the beep at the end of the sequence. Thanks!

Congrats on your new ride. I'm sure it's beautiful. To answer your question, no, you can stop it anytime without problems.

Congratulations - sounds like a deal to me! Welcome to the club - you will enjoy it. You can stop the roof at any point and restart if you want to do a little cleaning etc but if you leave it part way up or down for too long I think it drops by itself. You may have to do a search to see how to correct it once it drops - I know someone wrote about it before. The search will get you almost any info you can think of as almost everything has been done by someone on the forum! Have Fun.

Congrats and welcome to the Forum...you can stop the top at any point, but it will fully retract (at least mine did) after 15 minutes or so.

Welcome aboard! Is your roadster the Bright Silver Metallic? It was my 1st choice of color for my coupe because it most closely matches the windshield surround, door handles, and the side vents.

Let's see some photos. Here's mine..

Yes, it is bright silver metallic. I will post pictures as soon asI get my camera back from my daughter.I also, wore out the search feature before I bought the car! From other posts on this forum, silver metallic seems to be a rare color.

HA!!! My Roadster's sticker was $41,780 - I guess yours was a little cheaper cause it wasn't red!

Mine had 13,500 on it and four years of the warranty was gone - but I got mine for $17.649 - I think we both did good.

And I saw one that color at the Dragon this fall... VERY pretty car! It was like the car matches the color of the trim around the windshield (as someone else just said).

Welcome to the club. Does yours have a clutch pedal or an Automatisk??

Congrats on the new ride!

I routinely stop the top when it's partially down (or partially up if you're a "glass half full" person). That is the best way I've found to clean the inside of the back window.

the car is an automatic. I did not have a choice of color etc. as this was the only new x-fire in this area.

You got a great car, and color, Buddy. Congratulations and welcome to the forum. This is by far the best source for info, and a great bunch of people.

BTW, just out of curiousity, what's the VIN, and when was it made, on the door post?

I am not too sure. I think there were 77000 cars produced.

I found this.
A total of 76,047 Crossfires were made, with something less that 76,000 produced for sale and the balance being prototypes or crash cars.

I think you are correct zeracer. I just found the post where you go those numbers. It also looks like the last x-fire was produced on Dec.17 2007.
