New Guy with Questions
1. Coupe vs. Convertible... Is the Convertible as quiet, or is there substantial wind noise?
2. Short people vs manual xmissions - my wife is vertically challenged... She cant push the clutch all the way in on a BMW 328 for example... Is a manual transmission out of the question for her in a Crossfire?
3. With a convertible, do you lose any interior/trunk space?
4. PS... Limited Vs. NON Limited? What's the difference?
As you can see, I haven't been able to look at a Crossfire up close... I've been waiting for one to come into the area so I could sneak a peak, but there just hasn't been one yet... Thanks for your help with these questions... I'm sure Ill have more as time goes on.
There IS a real nice blue convertible in San Antonio at Carmax, and I might just have to go down there tomorrow...

coupes are more quiet than roadsters, especially when the top is down
short people can drive these cars, stick or no stick
Go look at them up close, sit in one, drive one....tell us what you think...
I (currently) have one of each. Both are SRT's so there will be a (BIG) difference as far as power goes. Here are my posts when I first took ownership of each vehicle.
Coupe
Roadster
1. Coupe vs. Convertible... Is the Convertible as quiet, or is there substantial wind noise?
I rarely drive the roadster with the top up. Of course with the top down there is going to be noise. But hey, it's good noise and yer cool while yer listening to it!!
2. Short people vs manual xmissions - my wife is vertically challenged... She cant push the clutch all the way in on a BMW 328 for example... Is a manual transmission out of the question for her in a Crossfire?
I defer the answer to this question to the resident stick guy, Franc.
3. With a convertible, do you lose any interior/trunk space?
With the top down you need to be creative to get a lot of stuff in the "trunk". If you lay a 12 pack of beer on its side it will slide under the lower front part of the trunk no problem. This way you can haul over 4 cases of beer no problem!
Top up I've been able to squeeze quite a bit of stuff in there. I've actually gone to the store (top down) and had to return home with the top up just to fit extra items into the trunk. 'Course when I know I'm gonna get a lot of stuff I take another car/van/truck.
4. PS... Limited Vs. NON Limited? What's the difference?
Sorry SRTs only here.

Where the hell are ya? I'm sure a local member here would be more than willing to introduce you to this fine vehicle. But I warn ya if you are near me yer gonna want an SRT after I take ya for a ride in it!
Thanks for your help with these questions... I'm sure Ill have more as time goes on.
Bring 'em!

Any shade of blue is a good color! . So is yellow, red, gray, white, gold, silver. I think that about covers it!

Thanks for the coupe vs. Roadster info...

Prior to purchasing our SRT roadster last summer, I drove a 2008 roadster and a 2008 coupe in the same day. I was expecting the coupe to be much quieter than the roadster, but surprisingly they were very similar.
The noise was different. Both had the same tires (the all-season Contis), but I heard more road noise in the coupe, vs. more wind noise in the roadster. I drove the roadster at highway speeds, and wind noise of course increased. But around town, I thought the roadster was actually quieter than the coupe.
At the time I chalked this up to the roadster having a trunk, while the coupe was a hatchback - the rear wheel wells are in the trunk with the roadster. In the coupe, they are in the passenger compartment essentially, since it's open to the back.

I have both and the roadster is MUCH louder even with the top up. Very little trunk space if you intend to put the top down. If not then there is not much difference once you raise the divider.

I'm a 5'2" female with about 26.5" inseam - we're talking lucky to reach the frigging ground let alone anything else, lol. I have an '08 manual Limited Roadster. With the seat all the way forward and up quite a bit (be sure to have your wife move that seat UP as well as forward, makes a big difference), I can just reach the clutch, fully depressed. No problem whatsoever driving/controlling the car even under more extreme conditions (railing mountain roads and at the track). Unless her inseam is even less than mine, she should be perfectly fine.
There isn't much trunk space however, I was able to cram a queen size comforter along with a couple of tiny bed pillows in the trunk with the top down. Happened to be the very same day I got pulled over for having too much fun in the sun - shoulda seen the policeman's face when I popped the trunk to get my driver's license and the comforter sprung out like the snakes out of a can gag, lol.

Seriously though - I feel for her. This world is made for tall people - even going for groceries can be an ordeal when things are on the top shelf. I can only barely imagine the frustration handicapped people must feel trying to get around.
Riding sportbikes has been one of my biggest challenges especially with the lowest seat heights starting at 30" plus (my current 696 is 30.3") but where there's a will, there's a way.
My wife is 5' and she could drive the stick no problem. Of course if she forgot to move the seat back, I could not get in.
Leaving the SRT6 out of the comparison, I have a 2005 roadster and a 2007 coupe, both MT6. As stated there is more wind noise with the convertible, but not really much. It is well insulated. I tend to notice more road and body noise in the coupes because the large area behind the seats acts like an amplifier.
Trunk space is a joke in the roadster, but it's not as ludicrous as a Skye. I have fit a rolling suitcase and computer bag no problem. I have put a full adult hockey bag of gear in there, but you have to take it all out and distribute under the top and around the back -- a bag full of gear does not fit, but the contents do. Forget golf clubs. As noted, it easily fits important stuff like a few cases of beer or a couple cases of wine.

With the seat up that far isn't it like having another trunk behind the seat?

Yah, like Henry Ford said, you can have any color you want as long as it's black. Works for me! :-)
But seriously, they're ALL good. When you finally get yourself in the driver's seat, you'll know what I mean.

On the subject of cars you can have but only in one colour, I leant to drive in a Lada Riva (not sure if you guys know what that is there, pic below) My dad loved them for some reason and bought two from new, made my childhood miserable until I was in college and driving it to and from and it was raining really hard and my mates asked for a lift, I told them there was no way they would get into a Lada ......Remember and drove off, they never said a word after that LOL.
Well back to the story Lada only made cars per year in a certain colour like it or lump it, the first time he got one the colour of the year was go faster Dark Blue the second time the colour of the year was Sickly Beige, to get any other colour was double the money LOL. My dad wanted a Red one after the blue that colour was two years away hahahhhahahah. It was one of the only cars I had so much fun in, apart from this, not that I am comparing the two obviously
Lada huh? Kind of a snazzy little car. That would suck having to wait two years for "your" color to come out! Reminds me of a friends little Austin America (going back to the 70's here)..we used to pick it up and turn it sideways in the parking space so she couldn't get out after work.
