Re: Chrysler warranty
They document the terms and limitations explicitly in the warranty booklet that was delivered with the vehicle!

Re: Chrysler warranty
Yep, they are right. I even confirmed with Chrysler LLC and like it says in the owner's manual the powertrain warranty can only be transferred one time from the original owner to buyer #2. I am the second owner of my Crossfire and paid the $150.00 to transfer the remainder of the warranty until 07/2012 or 70K miles (whichever comes first). In my case the car only had 8,551 miles on it when I bought it in Feb. 2010. I figure it is cheap to give me peace of mind even though I don't anticipate having to use it.
Re: Chrysler warranty
CATCH 22- IF YOU BOUGHT A CERTIFIED used CROSSFIRE (your #2 on the history) -it comes with a 8 yr 80 k power train, Then you buy an extended warranty (max care wrap around warranty )- say - 7 yr 80 k, Then you can transfer that warranty 1 more time to the 3rd owner.....But it has to be a certified car when the 2nd owner bought it.
Re: Chrysler warranty
Strange day.
I have a 2008 crossfire that I bought at 6000 miles from a dealer who took it in on a trade. I now thought my warranty is coming to an end and I'm looking to buy a care max Chrysler extended warranty. I called a dealer today and he looked up my Vin number and says my original warranty ends Sept 15, 2011. I thought it ended Sept 15 2010 as the in service date was Dec 7 2007 and that's what someone told me. The dealer I bought the car from said the warranty was gonna run out past February and did I want to buy an extended policy. I said no way. New he was trying to beat me. Todays dealer than told me the car also has an extended warranty already issued on it but his computer doesn't show what policy it is or any other information. I called Chrysler and asked questions and got the policy number and the name of the first owner. They also said it was a care max policy 5 year 60,000 miles with oil and lub coverage. Problem is that he said it can't be transferred to someone. He said the original owner got a cheaper price not making it transferable. Hope this is not BS. I hope he is telling the truth as this would be a nice freebie. Anyone confirm non transferable policies?
