Default Lower seat?

Dear Forum,
I am really new to this website, and have ot figured out how to find things yet; so what I want may already be here.
I'm 6'4", and weigh 220 pounds. I know I should not have bought this car, but I was abducted and seduced. I am thinking about moving to Montana so I can drive fast, but that is not my problem. People laugh when they see me get in and out of my car. It is a little like the very tall clown who gets out of the very small car. I wish there were an extra inch in the height of the roof. I have thought about taking some stuffing out of the seat to lower it so my torso will fall into the interior better, BUT has anyone deloped a competition seat which might help this oversized guy fit into my car? It seems to squeeze me on my sciatic nerve because the seat bottom is curved. I am thinkng about adding a little padding to the front of the seat to put more weight on my thighs, and reshape the rear of the seat.
Am I the only big guy wo bought a Crossfire?

There are hundreds of seats out there that can help you out.
Any of the competition or racing seats you can find on ebay will ride conciderably lower than the one in the crossfire.
Don't get me wrong there are good fair and crappy seats but pick up the cheapest to find out if it gives you what your looking for and then go with the plan. You should be able to find a complete seat assembly at a auto store for under a hundred bucks. The biggest difference in cheap to expensive is how long they will last. The Crossfire seats are very tall due to the motors under the seats.
Where are you planning on Moving to in Montana ?

Thanks for the replys! I may be in worse trouble than I thought, because my seats are NOT electric. It has a spring loaded thing that pops up when you pull a lever and jump up-- Good for my 5 foot wife! The passenger seat is lower. Will they switch? Is there really something under this seat that I can remove to lower the current driver's side seat?

Boy you have me on this one I wasn't even aware that they made a full manual seat.
Please don't take this wrong but later in thier run they really did some cheap moves to try to make $$ and sell some cars. They originally were quite expensive. As whether or not they are innerchangable I just had my seats out and YES I would have to guess you could swap sides if they you swap out the seat belt atachments.
It is very, very easy to remove seats. You will need a set of Torx wrnches and sockets. These can be purchased very cheap from any full service auto store or hardware store or for a few bucks more Sears has several good metric Torx sets. You will need a 17mm open end wrench or socket for the seat belt bolt.
To remove slide seat all they way foreward, move seat back forward and remove the torx bolt on the seat rail. Move seat all the way back and do the same to the front 2 bolts on the rails. remove shoulder/seat belt (17mm) bolt undernieth you need to unlug the electric seat belt warning plug and the seat comes right out. trust me the way I worded this it sounds more difficult than it actually is.
DON"T GIVE UP ON THE CROSSFIRE! At least try to swap them aound. There are alot of very tall guys that have Crossfires BUT they have the electric seats which can be adjusted up and down so I assume the passenger seat is every bit as low as the electric Drivers seat is. If you need more help let me know...

Lowering the seats my help but the truth is big guys have troble getting in and out of this car period. I'm 6' 1" and have issues, in a Limited with power seats.

You could also do these things;

Take off the Stetson
Lower the top
Go to the gym more
Take two Aleve before trying to enter.
Move the steering wheel fully forward
Move the steering wheel fully back.

I have tried all but the Gym thing. With limited results.

A few bourbons or a scotch will help you get in but is generaly not recommended if you intend to drive the Crossie somewhere.

Or dothe Schwartzenager thing and pull the seat fully out of the car and sit on the floor. But then you couldn't lay your arm on the window sill.

As mentioned earlier in the post you will see there ARE no adjustments.
I am assuming the latch release is in the front.

you can also remove the plastic trim by your knee's, there is a how-to thread for that also, it helped me a ton @ 6'2" as i'm able to move the seat a bit further forward and recline more.

Yep... base coupes are manual seats. The lever on the side brings the seat up and down. The lever in the front sides it forward and back.

Funny because when I bought the car I preferred manual seats. Always afraid those things would break out of warranty and cost me a fortune to fix. Anything to make my life simpler and less gadgets on a car to break, the better. But that is just my opinion!

My lever on the side doesn't do anything. Maybe it's broke - not connected to whatever it's supposed to be connected to. Either that, or the seat has just been in one position for so long, it doesn't want to move. I don't know if it's up, down or somewhere in the middle. Too much effort required to figure it out.

What a disappointment to learn my car had been stripped down. The lower cost was supposed to be because the car had been lost in a NJ warehouse for a whole year. Only later did I see they had not installed the seat heaters and the roadlights under the bumper! Except for the difficulty of changing the headlights has been the only hassle. I just wish I could drive 100 mph and not worry about speeding tickets.
Thanks for your reply

I have been thinking about trying to bend it, but after I'm in, I'm ok, but getting in is tough. Hopefully, it will help keep me limper enough to age better.
Thanks,

You should have that checked out because the side adjustment (the lever) offers a wide range of seating heights for different drivers, something the limited is more lacking.

If it is a limited, it has been 'stripped down', but my thinking is that it is a base model, which includes no power, heated seats, instead manual cloth seats, no foglights, a little different radio and a few other bits, including, but not limited to black windshield surround, black door handles and black side strakes. Please do not refer to it as stripped down, I bought mine because it had everything I wanted, and none of the other issues to deal with, plus it is over 100lbs lights and my little butt sticks in the cloth, where I just slide aroiund with the leather. It is a limited on a diet

Wow...total embarrasment! I have owned a base Xfire for almost two years. Was thinking of solo racing and track but noticed that with a helmet on my head clearance was not good. I am 6 foot and have seen all the posts of others that are much taller and I could not understand how they were even getting in! Then someone mentioned the lever on the left side of the seat that does nothing...or does it? I just picked up helmet room and more with the movement of a lever.

Guess I should have figured everything out before pulling it apart...

Mark

Yeah, mine is definitely broke or frozen or something. I haven't bothered to check it out because the seat is fine like it is. The lever would just allow me to change the height, right?

Yes the lever on the side allows you to adust the height up and down, but you have to pull the lever and physically pull the seat up, it will not come up on it's own. There is actually quite a bit of travel up and down.
