Default We may have found a car finally !

Going to go look at a car for sale Monday ( private party ) Has the exact options and even color that we are looking for. Color wasn't a huge deal only a couple that we don't like but finding an auto trans roadster has been a challenge without having to go halfway around the country. We have been in no hurry and not looking real hard either. We'll see what happens, it's a 2006 Limited with under 18K miles on it. They were talking upper 17's, we are talking 16. I have read on here where people damn near get them for free but I am yet to see any low mileage Roadsters with auto trans in this price range range when I look at eBay and search online. I think that low 16's will be a fair price for this car. They said the source they looked at is where they got the price, we said check KBB which says 16.9K for a perfect car and 16K for a very nice one which sounds about right. Hard to tell what happens come Monday, may be a 3 hour trip wasted but it's well worth going to look at, sounds like it's in perfect condition.

Most limited Roadsters ARE autos! Try finding a limited roadster with a STICK!

Don't just check Kelly Bluebook. Check the NADA Book

Base Price$9,725$11,125$12,275$15,400Mileage: 18,000$3,575$3,575$3,575$3,575See all options chosen
TOTAL PRICE$13,300$14,700$15,850$18,975* * This Retail price is based on a clean vehicle history report . Don't make a $18,975 mistake. Find out why AutoCheck is better than Carfax. Get a Free VIN Check today.

The Clean Trade in is $15,850
The Clean Retail is $$18,975

Also, Edmunds True Market Value Estimator: (Not sure of your location or your color but price would likely be in similar range) $16,300.

Finally, I'm sure you've done a search for exact matches. Take that info with you on the range. Seems like your range may be close -- but I would think the upper $16,000s is way more realistic than the low $16,000s -- especially if it really is in outstanding shape, one owner and clean carfax.

Good luck. I have a coupe -- which I love but I may be going for a roadster in the next year or so as well.

It seems like prices are finally stabilizing. I picked up the 2007 coupe for $16.7 with 12,500 miles two years ago. Roadsters usually go for a $2-3,000 more.

As a comparison, last November I purchased my '07 Limited roadster (manual) with 12K miles for $16.6.

Per PNA's post, check other pricing sources and do a CarFax or Autocheck on the VIN. Used car prices are currently on the high side due to market demand and continuing tight credit.

Also, service history/receipts, owner's manual, 2 sets of working keys and the rare multifunction tool are all key items. Make sure the seat heaters work too.

If you do buy it, break it in at the Dragon this coming weekend, and you will have full access to 80 X-Fire maniacs who can tell you more about your car than you may care to know.

Good luck.

I can't say that I have found my car yet but not long I'm sure. I am looking at a roadster with 60k plus miles in very good condition, so the senior owner says, for $12k. I have done some cursory comparisons and found that it is in the ball park however I have more to do later today. I have heard plenty about KBB and how out of touch it is, does anyone have other ways to get comparisons? I have used different auto sales sites and Edmunds. Am I on the right track?
I guess when it comes down to it the true value is what I am willing to pay for it. Sometimes parting is such sweet sorrow, with cash that is.
