Default Mirror Adjustment ****

Hey there, It's been a long time since I posted on the forum. I still own my xfire and love it! I had a mishap with the interior and my golf clubs knocked the **** that adjusts the mirror off the housing unit. I can adjust the mirrors with the broken stem, but was hoping to find a replacement ****...anybody know what that part is called or suggest where I can find one? Junk yard? I can't believe my car is 5 years old. It's almost paid for, too! I bought it in '06.

I have reading about the multiple accidents that members had this past weekend - several believe that their cars are totaled. I can appreciate their sadness. BUT in some past posts members have been talking about getting parts from totaled vehicles. Might this work for you? Perhaps send them a PM and inquire?
The only other suggestion I might have is to find a fab shop which does this kind of thing. Most always costly, but somethings are worth it.

Good luck with this........ Alicia

I was thinking the same thing! I did find a Mercedes Benz part that will work, but I am crossing my fingers that I will find my **** that I did have at one time. I am hoping it's wedged under my passenger seat. I just haven't given it a full search. I don't know what it would take to remove the black box and put a new one in...It's truly just a cosmetic problem and the mirrors can be adjusted. So, may live with it for now...

I had the same problem, but had to replace the switch, with a benz part, as the **** is not available seperately
However I think I kept the '****' off the old one, I moved house recently, but if I can find it you're welcome to it. let me look this weekend and if I turn it up, send me your address by PM, and I'll mail it to you
