Roadster Top Problems
Had Convertible Top Not Want To Go Up. I Checked All Of The Normal Problems. The Divider In The Trunk Was In The Correct Position. I Looked In The Manual And It Seems That I May Have An Issue With The "control Top Module" Has Anyone Had Any Dealings Wth This Problem? I Did Get The Top To Go Up Manually. But For Some Reason The Back Part Of Top Will Not Latch All The Way Onto The Rear Deck Lid???????????????? Not Quite Sure What Gives....any Ideas????
Also check the switch on the divider to make sure it is working properly. It is on the left side where the divider goes into the plastic hook. It feels like a little piece of ribbon-like metal.
Thanks I Will Look At That Divider Switch. I Do Not Get A Beeping Sound, Just A Flashing Light Which Indicates A Faulty Control Top Module, But I Will Look At The Divider Switch, Thanks So Much....

Thanks For The Information. I Will Try The Velcro Trick. I Have Double Checked The Position Of The Divider And That Is Not My Proble. I Have Noticed That It Could Be A Problem In The Future, So I Will Do The Velcro. Thanks Again.
Double check that the spoiler is not the issue. had a problem similar with the top. The spoiler was not seated. Put spoiler up then down and roof problem corrected itself. Also make sure trunk switch is not an issue. Lots of interlocks for the roof.just my 2 cents. Hope it helps
Let's see if we can come up with a checklist to enable the top's going up or down:
To lower/put the top down/open the top
1) Speed under 9 mph.
2) Trunk divider deployed and properly set to engage the switch indicating such.
3) Trunk lid completely closed.
4) Top released from windshield frame (a sensor indicates to the electronics when the top is released from the frame, starting the process).
5) Electric trunk lock activated and indicating locked status (this happens when you first hit the button, you can hear the cam, very softly, engaging in the trunk).
6) Spoiler all the way down OR all the way up.
To raise/put the top up/close the top
1) Speed under 9 mph.
2) Trunk divider deployed and properly set to engage the switch indicating such. (And just because the top went down, does not mean this sensor is STILL "happy").
3) Trunk lid completely closed
4) Electric trunk lock activated and indicating locked status (this happens when you first hit the button, you can hear the cam, very softly, engaging in the trunk).
5) Spoiler all the way down OR all the way up.
In either case, the windows will either go down when you release the top from the windsheild frame OR (in the case of the top being already down) when you first hit the button to put the top up. Should you have a blown fuse or some other problem preventing the windows from going down, you top is probably not going to move!
Have I forgotten anything?
(And please note that a bad sensor in any of the item above could stop the top's operation!)

Thanks For The Checklist. I Have Gone Through All Of These And Now Will Be Taking My Car To The Dealer, Drats. I Actually Went To The Dealer This Morning But The Card That They Use To Trobleshoot The Crossfires Was Not Working?????? So I Have To Reschedule When They Get A New Card In, Go Figure.
Has anybody had a problem with corrosion just under the lip of the tailgate? Around the small rectangular reflecter. I've just taken my '06 roadster into the deaers to see if they'll fix it under the corrosion warranty and they'll have to send pictures of to see if Fiat will honour the warranty. If not it's going to cost me around £1500 for a new tailgate! Any suggestions or comments would be welcome! Thanks
After A Little Research I Have Found The Source Of My Convertible Top Problem. The Control Top Module Will Stop Working If You Have The Top In The Midway Position For More Than 9 Minutes. A Few Weeks Ago I Had The Top In The Midway Position For Over 9 Minutes So That I Could Wax The Bottom Side Of The Tonneau Cover.........now I Am Trying To See If I Can Reset The Control Top Module Myself Without Having To Go To The Dealer..i Guess That's What I Get For Being Obsessed With A Clean Car.

This does not make sense to me. At least TWICE I have had the lid up for more than 10 minutes, to the point I had to brace the lid so it would stay up (since pressure is released after about 10 minutes).
When done, I'd let the lid and window come down and turn the key on, hit the button and the top would do what I wanted it to do.
I question the diagnosis here.

There is a reset I think,
* Ignition off
* Hold roof close button down
* Ignition on
This will release all pressure and reset the Roof module. You may need to get out of the way if the roof was open as it will drop back in.
I used this when the RCM got out of sequence when the roof was being closed and teh ignition was turned off.

I tried all the fixes prescribed and nothing
I got caught in a downpour last night with my top down. I got it up as soon as I could and drove it home to my garage. I left the top half open so the car would dry out. This morning I went to close it, but will not activate at all. The red light on the switch is blinking...HELP.

In my experiences....if you leave the top in any partial position (partially open or partially closed), the top will retreat to the fully "top down" position after about 15 minutes....at least on my 2005 Roadster Limited. I have seen this happen several times and have personally timed the event, and have never experienced the issue you are having. On my 2006 XLR....there is a fail safe built into the top...it will close (top down position) automatically if left in a partial open/close position. Maybe your issue is switch/sensor related.
I closeD it mANUALLY WITH LITTLE EFFORT AND CAREFULLY. But like many postings here my spoiler will not function and my trunk will not open. I tried the 3 time ignition on-offs to reset the module as stated in the manual, but that did not work either. We got pretty wet putting up the top, but I don't think it was enough to cause this issue. No action whatsoevever from top switch.
