How much would you pay for this Crossfire
Jane, any man that doesn't want to drive in one of your Crossfires should be ditched! I fit a floor jack, 2 jack stands, toolbox, a couple of Longacre cases, change of cloths, 2 cameras, log book, 3 rolls of blue tape, etc. in mine and manage to keep it looking new. If the clubs won't go in it's from laziness. Did I just say all that? And on the Vert, steal it or keep waiting.

I would pay somewhere between $13,000 and $14,000 for a 2005 base roadster with 750 miles. I bought my 2005 Limited with automatic, navigation, LOJACK, and 5149 miles for $14,000 in January. Just week earlier, I worked a deal with a dealer in Virginia for a black 2005 base roadster with 12,000 miles and a Chrysler certified warranty for $13,300.
Keep in mind that there might be some time left on the transferrable 7 year/70,000 mile powertrain warranty (not much if he bought in 2004). Also, as has been said, you will have several hundred dollars in expenses, starting with an oil change, just to get the car ready to drive.
Super-low mileage cars are not always a great deal. I figure that a lot of cars have issues during the warranty period, and those things will be fixed at the manufacturer's expense. This 750 mile 2005 hasn't had its "shakedown" during the warranty period, so you could be on the hook for some expensive repairs in the future.
If you offer $14,000 and they don't take it, don't feel too bad about it.

Just remember Doctor Jane, if he strokes when you offer him some rediculous low ball offer, you have to treat him for free....the least you can do.....lol....
Low mileage is King. One can argue that point and come up with good reasons for both sides of the argument. In the end, low milage wins. Always has, always will. I bought mine with 14K and was willing to pay more for it than one with 35K, even though the book says differently. You can do anything to a car except turn back the clock. Legally anyway.
Jane, I am glad to hear you are finally coming over to the dark side. Although Black is a bit darker than I would have imagined.
Sticks are cool and this one will be tight. That alone is worth some extra bucks. Tiredretired is absolutly right there. When Mrs Gump bought her low milage stick last summer, I couldn't believe how tight it felt as compared to my rode hard and put away wet roadster (@ 36K miles).
So, unless you wish to spend some dough bringing it back to bristol condition, it might be worth $14K on that alone. You are a consumate driver and would be much happier with excellence.
Besides, you are gonna need all the edge you can get to keep up with this ole gear masher at the Dragon come fall.

I've had this golf club since 1998 and as soon as I finish my honey-do list I will play the first round of golf in my life... and it will fit in this shotgun mount
I would use the book price as a guideline only in determining value. In the end, the only person that can answer that question is you. How bad do you want this car? How much do you like the color combos? How important is the low mileage?
As for me, low mileage is very important, for others, maybe not so much. Your decision, good luck and please post pics if and when you buy.

Thanks guys. I appreciate everything you all have written.
My husband says it is not his clubs he is worried about, it is his "*****." Go figure.
After reading all you have wrote, I'm going to give a low ball offer and see what happens. If the guy have another stroke, I will leave quickly. I haven't even seen this car, so I need to look at it and drive it. I don't even know where I will store this car if I get it.
The comments about issues with a car that hasn't been driven are very well taken. These cars get better with driving and aren't meant to be parked for long.
I will let you all know about how this turns out.
Thanks again.

So, I start to make the calls to make an offer and discovered that the man traded it in for a Cadillac.
The car is at Russ Braunecker Auto Sales in Effingham, IL. They want 18,000 for it and gave the guy 22,000 for it on trade. They didn't do their homework, did they.
So, I offered 10,000 for it and I'm sure I won't hear back from them.
However, if any of you want the car, call them at 217-347-0505.
Thanks everyone for making this a joyful thread.

Ha, dealer games. He probably could have gotten a bigger discount if he bought the Caddy with out the trade. They said he got a $22K trade-in. He probably got $12K net.

Hi Jane,
Being new to the club I would like to repond to your question(s). First the price, for that car if it was stored just make sure it runs well and pay at least 15K or less. I just bought a 2007 for 18K with only 6800 miles. I just got back form a 1000 Rt to Eugene Oregon. I saw rain, snow, sleet, sunshine top up..top down and never had so much fun. The Oregon basin is a 55 MPH zone, but lonesome highway, and the car ran like a champ. Lots of curves and no officers to bother me. I got 25.3 MPG for the entier trip. So I hope you bought it, they sure are fun. I now will answer the trunk concern and the golf clubs...what golf, I am driving everywhere this summer in my roadster.

Just found out that the car sold, sight unseen, to a guy in Wisconsin for $17,500.
Maybe he is part of the forum. Must of wanted the car really bad. Good for him, though.

car was worth $12K on the wholesale market best. Dealer whistle talked the previous owner into thinkin he got $18K. Now he is upside down on the Caddy. But likely he's happy.
So is the guy in Wisconsin. Until he joins us and finds out what his car was worth.
Lots of good buys on good roadster with a stick cars out here Jane. One will come by again soon.
right now it is a buyer's market.
enjoy the Babe rally.
