If this cover is the same quality as the cover I have, it is worth every penny. I paid almost 200 for my custom fit cover. I bought the Dustop material (which is a very soft material used mostly for inside the garage). The cover was cut specifically for the crossfire and looks fabulous on our cars. Most people would say "buy a 40 dollar generic cover from walmart".... but nothing beats a cover that has been custom fit and molded to the shape of our cars. It even has side mirror pockets so it fits better.

I have always said.... Don't buy the generic brand... spend the extra money and get a custom fit cover. You wouldn't buy jeans that are bigger than your body would you? You wouldn't wear jeans or a shirt that are too big.... your car shouldn't have to either.

Just my opinion. Not trying to help you sell your cover....

I live in N Idaho but work out of the Phoenix area. My job requires a fair amount of travel and Phoenix is a good hub. I needed a car to get around Az and decided to make it a fun one so purchased an 05 Roadster on Saturday. It is supposed to be ready to pickup today.

Because I will often be leaving the car under an open carport for a week or more while I'm traveling, I decided a cover might help protect it from the sand storms that frequent the Phoenix area. I just got off the phone with the OP and have made arrangements to purchase this cover.

Since Saturday I've spent many hours on this forum and am pleased with the the amount of wonderful information available. That said, I'm concerned with some of the quirks I see described here and I am hoping that I didn't buy a vehicle that is going to end up being a high maintenance item. When I'm home in Idaho I have the luxury of having my own well equipped shop but in Az I'm at the mercy of the local mechanics.

 

What you will find at any Forum is that Problems tend to percolate to the top of most threads, and if you think about every quirk and anomaly, your head will explode...

Overall if proper maintenance is applied, and a little common sense, or should I say, sports car common sense is applied, these cars are quite reliable.

Enjoy the ride, knowing there is a place like this to help you along if an issue surfaces...

 

Thanks for the kind comments. I'm no stranger to forums so understand what you are saying. I'm going through the inevitable "buyers remorse" phase which I'm sure will pass within minutes of actually taking possession of the car.

Once they get it detailed out, I assure myself that the rear window isn't going to fall out on the way home, and that the key actually turns in the ignition switch, put the top down, and get it out on the freeway, all concerns will quickly dissipate.

I am not selling my cover. I am simply posting pictures of my cover so people can see what a custom fit cover looks like on the crossfire.

 

I am not selling my cover... but this is what a custom cover looks like. I wish I had a picture of the back of the car because it is even more impressive. Our cars are very uniqiue because the back slopes down... a very different shape than most cars today on the road. The custom fit cover handles the curves of our cars very well. It also helps to keep the cover from flapping around in the wind which can cause damage to the car. I am very please with my cover... I don't care what others use and I am not knocking them. Just don't tell me a 40 dollar cover from walmart is just as good because it isn't. If you felt the material of my cover and saw how it fits the crossfire you would notice a big difference between a 40 dollar generic cover. It even covers the wheels very good and never touches the garage floor. I just love it!

By the way, I had to put my car inside a friends garage so I got the material to protect it from dings. I usually never cover my cars but I needed to pick one up because I had it in storage (in this garage) and there were lots of obstacles. I got it mostly to help protect it from dings and scratches until I could get it back in my garage. Now that I have it in my garage it is safer and a more controlled environment so I don't need the cover anymore.... but I love the cover so much I just kept using it. I have it covered all the time now (I only put it back on when the car is clean). This has an inner liner of some kind of cotton flannel material. I don't know what it is but it is very soft. I would imagine the paint on my cross is thanking me

 

Due to the frequent dust/sand storms in Az I'm expecting the cover to get dirty. Not wanting to put a dirty cover on my car, what would folks recommend for cleaning it. Could I just plop it in a washer on the cold water cycle and do a quick wash?

 

That is what I did to wash mine. I hung it out to dry and did not use the dryer.

 

Do yopu still have this for sale? Who is the manufacturer?
