Default Sales Help (data sheet, kind of)

I was wondering if anyone already had a document put together, even something for car shows, that highlights all the unique attributes of the crossfire? If it is something well suited for selling a used one, that would be best.

I am helping my parents sell their limited roadster in SWFL and this info would be great to educate a potential owner. I figured I would ask here before reinventing the wheel.

Any help is appreciated.

I don't have something I've put together, but this is the data sheet (literally) from Road & Track.

This includes almost every bit of performance info you would need for a vehicle in factory condition. Granted, it's for a coupe and not a roadster.

Any help John?

Or maybe a custom bound set of 'how to fix' PDF's.

So, what are the specs on the car you are preparing to sell for your folks? You might not have to go to a lot of work once the educated audience here gets an idea that there is another XF on the market.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help guys, even these documents I can copy and paste from are better than typing it all myself from scratch.

Stargazer, I did not list the car here because most here want ultra low mileage garage queens, and while the car was well taken care of, it has approximately 70K miles on it, and everytime someone lists something here, everyone wants to tell them it is overpriced

Another I found. I can send as a Word .doc if required.

I have been following CF prices since spring. Asking prices have gone up. If you look at eBay and Autotrader you will seen that very few are selling.

Things tp consider: If you get a buyer how will you deliver title. Maintenance records. Get a ball park number from KBB, Edmunds, etc. And unless this car is CF unique, don't expect to get private party dollars.

I would expect 10-20% over wholesale- what a dealer would pay. Get an offer from CarMax or local Chrysler dealer.

I have sold personal cars before and it can be a real pain in the a$$. I am not doing it again unless it is to someone on this site. We will know what we want; know what we are doing; have the means and get it done.

I'm not sure that I agree with what you're saying. We have recently had a couple of threads where potential buyers are asking about cars with 50- 70,000 miles, and the responses have indicated that people are confident that Crossfires should be good for at least 200,000 miles. As for the comments on pricing, you can't fight the market. If that car is in southwest Florida, the fact is that you are in competition with plenty of low-mileage cars, and a 70,000 mile car isn't worth much here. Put it in the classifieds on the forum, and you'll probably attract a buyer from elsewhere in the country where Crossfires are scarce. They might be happy to get on a plane to come down and overpay for the car, just because they know that they can have a nice vacation and enjoy the drive home.

I think that comment was one he was hoping to avoid by not posting it here.

Seriously, I'm trying to help him out. If someone is trying to sell a Crossfire in southwest Florida, they'll need to price it right. A reputable local dealer has a decent 52,000 mile Limited roadster listed for $15,000 and a private seller 20 miles from here sold a 40,000 mile Limited roadster that was listed on Craigslist last week for $13,000. Someone on the forum from New Jersey or Utah might be looking for a summer car or weekend toy that won't get driven very much, and might not be fussy about the miles.

It will be tough to get good money for that car on Craigslist here as long as the ad for the $13,000 car is there.

As Dave pointed out, this is exactly what I was trying to avoid. My parents bought this car brand new in 2005 from the factory floor, they are not going to give it away, not do they need to. If that means keeping it and me continuing to use it as a vacation car when my girlfriend and I visit Florida, damn the luck, I guess I will have to

If they were more inclined to sell, I would bring it up here to Indiana in the early spring, put the buffer on it in and it would be gone.

How true! A "FLORIDA CAR", and surely one as rare and unique as the Crossfire Roadster, would easily sell up there!

What color(s) inside and outside is it? And I assume it's an auto, right? I'm sure it's been babied and taken care of - probably not even seen the Dragon in all those miles.

Dragon, no. My father has only driven it a few times, it was my mother's fun car for the last 6 years, and she is ready to move on.

SSB Auto.

Did anyone else catch the motor spec on the attachment in the second post? I think it's Beaner's car!

Another couple of cylinders what the heck, they fired all the editors who run the drafts for typos, facts etc. Spell checkers took their place and they are not infallible.

Newspapers and web sites are full of factual and spelling errors, welcome to the downsized world.
