Crossfire owners near Gainsville Fl
I was wondering if any forum member lived in or near Gainsville Fl...I ask this because I'm interested in purchasing another vehicle that I've wanted for some time now...It's a 92 Eagle Talon TSI...The place seems kind of shady but the price on this car is awesome...I was hoping that someone could check out this vehicle for me...

I'd be really careful of this one. Any time a car is marked down from $3999.00 to $1499.00 there's likely trouble. A used car like this from a private individual is one thing, when you can talk to the owner and review the history. But it's another thing to buy a car like this from a dealer who is generally trying to make money from the sale. It doesn't look like there'd be much in it for him, if anything. He's trying to unload this one and there must be a reason for it.
If you buy it you can expect to find problems in the near future that will cost money. Take it to an independent mechanic and see if it burns oil, check the compression, look at the brakes - everything. Spend a hundred bucks on that and make sure that you know what you're getting

Sounds like a " Salvage" car. It is probably high priced for what it is. If you don't car about ever selling it, may not be such a bad deal. All depends on what it's real condition is.
Here's what's in Canada. Used Eagle Talon ? Canada& The odometers are in kilometers - 100 km's equals 63 miles. The price that your dealer is asking is about average for that car privately here.

I don't know this car or this dealer but the ad tells me everything that I need to know. This is an over priced piece of Buy Here Pay Here junk. What dealership is going to sell a 20 year old Eagle Talon?!?! If you buy it I will bet you that the only way the rear end on that car makes it back to TX is if you trailer it.....
Buy yourself something nice for the XF instead!

You need to find one that was loved & cared for by a private party. No one wants this car ..... it looks like it smells bad too.
My best friend was president of Club DSM in NE Florida for a while and he let me in on the skinny. You don't want a gen 1 Talon or Eclipse. Too many problems with the CV axles, interiors not worth a crap, paint that had crap primer, head gaskets notorious for blowing, etc. Unless this car has some crazy sentimental value to you, it's not a collectible in too many others' eyes. And if you do end up getting one, get the Eclipse, at least the brand is still around.
I'm aware of the problem with the engines overheating. I blew my head gasket twice on one. The car does hold sentimental value for me. I've had 3 of them over the year. It has always been on of my favorite cars. I guess I'm just a Chrysler man. I currently have two Sebrings now. One 99 Sebring Coupe that I love with 240k on it and a 03 Sebring Sedan, which I don't like so much. This is my second Sebring Coupe. The other one was a 96. My Sebring Coupe is DSM and hasn't given me many problems. I also want to get a 87-94 Chysler Lebaron Coupe or Convertible. Call me crazy, but I grew up always wanting one of those. The Sebring replaced the Lebaron
If I can't find a Talon, then I will probably buy this Lebaron
