Talking Turning a Limited into a SRT-6

Hi, new to the forum. Finally convinced the wife that I need a Crossfire. I want a SRT-6 but also want a convertible and a stick. Can a limited be upgraded to a SRT and what would it cost?

Indeed Sir I can think of at least 4 or 5 actual threads that discuss the subject. There are probably 10-15 in the tech sections that deal with the idea. Lots of good reading.

In short, you can buy a SRT6 Roadster, but you had best learn to live with the 5 speed automatic ....

The other option is to buy a 6 speed limited roadster and sign up on the BEGI list for the turbocharger. ( thats a sticky thread you can search for )
( there seems to be a bit of debate about if the 6 speed clutch can handle the extra HP/Torque however )

You can do anything but the short answer is... it would cost a fortune.

Use the search function and start reading, the answer is not simple.

And it is one thing to convince her that you need a Crossfire, how ya gonna justify buying an N/A roadster for at least $12,000 THEN spending $6,000 to $20,000 to create a six speed SRT-6?

Many have put various V8s in their cars and I'd go that route, myself.

Does the OP actually want a 6-speed SRT? He can't because SRT's are auto's. The statement is oxymoronic. Perhaps he wants a modified NA Crossfire with the HP of an SRT???
I would advise following the turbo mod threads. It's still going to cost a fortune not only for the mod but also replacing expensive parts broken by the mod not to mention sub-standard braking, suspension and aerodynamics.
He'ld be far better off screwing the 6 spd idea and just buying an SRT. .02

You can buy an SRT6 roadster for a lot less than a conversion. I assume there was a reason Chrysler did not make an SRT6 with a stick shift?

Basically because every AMG car made at the time was auto, so since the running gear is basically AMG...no manual trans

And they did not have a manual trans that would hold the power of the SRT....
