Yea, the Z's were running hard (some of them) on the Dragon last month during "ZDAYZ". I was the only Crossfire there, good people and we had a blast together.
They DID loose one on a curve between the Lodge and the Dam - but even the cop said he'd have been alright had he not panicked and stood on the brakes in a curve. He sure left a hell of a set of black marks as he spun off the right side of the road.

That is why we upgrade to SRT6s tune it a bit so we do not have to worry about stock 350-370z unless they are turboed into oblivion. Also, the XF is much better looking. Who wants to tell at a party you are driving a Nissan? Just my 0.02$ please respect it.
If I was driving the latest GTR I would definitely carry a picture of it on my forehead in case anyone asks.

Nobody. But i imagine they say they drive a 350z, just like we say we drive crossfires. I've never said "I drive a Chrysler."
Yep If I was asked in the past I would reply that I drove a "Z" not a Nissan. That said so many performance goodies for the Z there are tons of them that are just beasts. Google tt350z and watch some of the vids. It was pretty common on the Z forums to see guys running 400-600hp to the wheels and several were hittin 1000hp with a singl nos shot.Couple of guys were running sub 10 sec qtrs but most z guys track them as oppossed to qtr mile racing as it didnt require a tt set up just mild engine mods with big bracks and coil overs.
I even went further, SRT6.. but now when some shitty van is being released as a SRT6 I am saying just SRT.

Not sure I would call a Z a dime a dozen. Production is about 18k a year only reason there are less Xfire is they did not sell well. That being said I did vote with my wallet and drive a Xfire but I still respect the Zs for the car that they are and while there are many mod options they are not cheap to mod like a rustang. I would say on average most of the guys with the fast Zs had 30+k plus the cost of the car in them and the beast ones had around a 100k invested in them. But they are more common but nothing like a camaro vette or stang.

In my town of 24xxx, the 350Z is just as common as a mustang (50-100 each, at least). Vettes are few, camaros are between Z's and Vettes. The 370's are hiding, every now and then Ill see one or two.
I see as many xfires here as I do Zs . I am sure there are more Zs but I see a equal amount when I am out ajd about. But here in Nashville many do .not drive these types of cars year round like I do. Never been stuck in either since we get so little snow here. Now mustangs I see probably 50 to every z or xf and vettes prbably 10 to 1 sake for the new camaro

ok that fine i back off a little , so we come out on top to the four lane and to my Don't get me wrong, I like the Zs, but they are pigs compared to an SRT. Get in a crossfire and you have an interior that hugs you like a cockpit, a Z is quite cavernous for a 'sports car'. I have driven a few of them and have not been overly impressed, but the 370 is another story altogether
I have a bit of an inside line on this one...
Keep in mind that there are numerous generations of Z's to add to the mix... The Z33 (Nissan-speak for 350Z) is the volume seller and is a good car, not a great one. Boosted variants DO exist but the vast majority are 13.5-14.5 cars... Driver mod, as with any car, is crucial. The Z33's horsepower is higher than the base XF, but so is the weight by some 600 pounds. Z has slight advantage in the corners due to the better suspension geometry. But, let's not forget brakes. The brakes on the Z33 and even the Z34 have been notoriously poor. The XF, on the other hand, stops in incredibly short distances.
The Z34 (370) is a quick car and should not be challenged by the N/A Crossfires. Period. Not on the straights, not in the twisties. If the driver of the Z34 sucks then you might edge him out in the bends, but once the straights open up, it's game over.
With an SRT, they are easily dispatched in the straights but the Z34 is an excellent handling car. VERY balanced in the corners, and much more predictable than the on/off power we have due to the stability control kicking in.
Personally, the engines are too harsh in ALL the Z-cars (the upper RPMs are extremely thrashy) and the refinement is lacking. Getting any Z into the low 12's takes quite a bit of work, and the 370's motor can't take a tremendous amount of prolonged abuse without a thorough workover.
The Z is the Mustang of Japan. Very popular, solid performance, volume car. Does not excel in any category, but isn't embarrassed in any either. HUGE aftermarket, and an even bigger enthusiast following. A great sports car IF you don't mind seeing one every few miles. Only a head-turner to enthusiasts, and each revision/model change is very drastic, meaning the prior generation looks very dated.
A good car, but I would never consider trading my SRT for one. Simply too many in my area

Love ya John, but I hate Z's, and for the most part haven't liked the drivers much either....I like what I have, and haven't had any problems with them, as the other John knows....lol
I agree with ya John for the most part. Although I enjoyed mine the rougher ride and noisier cabin were big negatives plus the seats are torture chambers for any drive over a few hours. I do not know of any fast ones here inNashville but many of them out west. But most do not 1/4 mile them but a few do.I may end up with a 370 next as I really want a roadster but I plan on keeping the xfire for 3-4 years so unless I get lucky and find a cherry srt roadster then will be forced to look at other options.
