Qualified Repair Facilities in DFW area
If there is already a similar thread, please point me to it.
I'm up to my SKRREM factor in trying to get my wife's 2005 Crossfire back on the road (see posts, she's caught the 3 starts and you're out problem). Although I have all the information and all the talent of this forum available to me, I'm leaning towards letting a qualified repair operations go to the next level (my time, what if something else is wrong, WAF factor, ...).
First question is general qualifications. This car seems to be the SLK-230 in all aspects except sheet metal. Even looking at a posted RCM repair video, the instrument module appears the same. Does that mean things like the SKREEM and the bulk of the rest of things are standard fair for a good Mercedes mechanic? Do the specialized programming tools they would have work in place of the Chrysler scan tools? I ask because there seem to be relatively few Chrysler dealers that actually have mechanics with any REAL knowledge of this vehicle and to me that means paying for OTJ training as the mechanic lip reads the manual while trying to make complicated repairs (read that to mean a HUGE bill for me). On the other hand, a Mercedes shop may be able to tackle this swiftly and may even know what the heck they're talking about.
Second Q - Any recommendations for a DFW area repair? Nothing says sucker like bringing in a car on a flat bed for repair.
After all, Chrysler is now FIAT and you know what that stands for .... Fix It Again T...
THANKS IN ADVANCE
