I saw that listing yesterday, and searched this forum to see any related posts for this car. In the listing the seller said they tried forums for answers. I didn't find any related to fuel injectors and not starting. I remember seeing a seller listing this car (same problem) in FL along with a crashed version for sale on ebay about six months ago. I don't know if it's the same seller relisting it, or a buyer who never got it working.

I've made many purchases on ebay including cars and boats, and fortunately it's been mostly positive experiences. I remember one car listing where the seller said their father passed away and they were selling his hobby car. The listing said it was "not a show car", but he worked on it all of the time. Which to me was implying it was in very good condition. It was local, so I went and looked at it, and it was a piece of junk. It had a $300 paint job with paint on the interior door panels, and a two by four was used to hold up the hood.

If that's for real......sounds like a screaming deal!

Wonder why he doesn't just take it to a dealership to be fixed?

Our cars' value must be going up indeed when a non-running specimen fetches more than $10,000. There's a sucker born every minute, and one of them may buy this car. Tell the seller you'll pay $12,000 after it's fixed and see what he says...

Hello all! The car you are all discussing here in this string belongs to me. I did take it to the Chrysler Dealership and they wanted to put all new wiring harnesses (3) in the car at a cost of over $12000.00 which was quoted as the outside cost if they replace everything. Well needless to say I'm not in a position to pay them to just start replacing everything till they figure it out. I don't believe the issue is an expensive fix but it requires someone that's higher than my paygrade LOL. So if anyone would be interested in it I will entertain offers or if there is a Chrysler Crossfire Mechanic in the Tampa Florida area that would work on it outside of the dealership I would love to hear from you as I love the car and really would like to get it going. Thanks for reading this and I hope someone here can assist me.

Sounds like that's right up there just like fixing a bad tail light socket by replacing everything for about $450 bucks.. and breaking your very usable old part along with it..
Might give us her symptoms.. @ 12,000 I'd guess more than just a fuel pump..

The Dealership Service Rep said it sounded like a wiring issue and said that the only way they would even consider working on car was if I agreed to them replacing all 3 wiring harnesses and then go from there. The #12000 cost he quoted was worse case senario. Still alot of money for the harnesses as I checked with the parts department. So if someone local can assist me with this I am more than willing to pay them within reason.

With a quote like that I would guess they really don't want to work on it. The dealer should have put their DRB 3 scanner on it and pulled some codes. Did they mention that? If it couldn't connect with the car computer that might be a reason they were saying it needed a wiring harness. An independent Mercedes shop might be worth trying.

I'm starting to think I got a steal on my 05 limited, I paid $10,200 with tax and got a full one year warranty.

I don't have the error codes from the car. I will try and get someone to scan the vehicle and will post the results. Thank you all for your comments.

I think the Red one for Buy it now 15M and only 21000 mile s is the best deal. Not a roadster but Florida taken care of.

I got in on the tail end of this... electrical for sure, but I bet it is an easy fix...Chrysler knows nothing as usual.

I think I remember the thread about this car, asinine that a dealer told him $12,000, and I DO remember that.

I don't care WHAT electrical problem it has, even replacing every module would not cost $12,000. And this asinine crap about replacing all the wiring is nonsense.

As others have said, the dealer obviously wanted no part of it AND knew nothing about what to do.

It would be very helpful If the gentleman could give us a list of symptoms, quite difficult to make an educated evaluation without all the facts. I absolutely agree with you that the dealership threw that out there because they just don't want to work on the car. based on my experience with you guys here on the forum I'd be willing to bet money that with all the experience you guys have here! The car could be fixed And for a very reasonable price.

Quite right, mrmiata, maybe he will read the post and reciprocate. I was looking at the pictures and it looks like a very nice car. only thing I don't like about it it's a straight drive.
