Default Roll bars.

Has anyone flipped a Roadster?
I'm curious how strong the roll bars are.
Are they going to protect the noodle or flaten it?

No one knows?
I've only heard from someone that they're cosmetic and wouldn't offer any protection in a roll-over accident.
I'm hoping it's just a rumor.

Ask BoilerUpXFire about his experience with roll bars in a coupe while flipping over into a creek upside down. Squirrel Crusher

There isn't any in the coupe silly. You know that. The strength is in the windshield frame. But I have had the bars all but out. They are bolted in pretty well. I think they would hold in a roll over. I am installing the chrome ones finally before spring. I have had them for 3 yrs. about time huh?

Thats a question I sent to Mr Mopar a few days ago. Will the sport bars fit in a coupe? Is the bulkhead behind the seat the same on the convert and coupe? Would be pretty cool if they fit.

The bulk head wall is the same in the roadsters and coupes. Both models are factory ready in the wall to bolt in roll bars-sport bars. With the coupes, you only have to drill with a hole saw into the top plastic cover of the bulkhead. I'm thinking BlueCoupe was the one who installed the factory roadster bars into his coupe. Looked good! Most purchase the oversized tube diameter mirror finished stainless steel bars from Autogrimmig.com Phone# 626-310-4100 The item is RB-SLK that fits the 98-04 SLK230 Roadster(R170) .. Back to OT.
So they're real. There's so many things these days that look real but are only cosmetic, ie dual exhaust that is actually single exhaust, ram air that isn't, etc.

There's lots of people flipping cars around here. I hope it never happens but glad to know it's not a death sentence if does.

Be careful, the autogrimmag ones SQ posted above work well with the template and everything is in the right place, with the generic ones from this link, unless you buy them and pull everything apart, there is no way to be certain they will fit. Members have had issues with bars other than the autogrimmag ones. Just my $0.02

I was kinda surprised to find polished stainless steel at that price..
Might very well be some shortcuts and less attention to quality control to get there.

I have these Fat SS bars installed also. I used the template and instructions that Squirrel Crusher provided for me(thanks again)and it worked great. I will mention that even w/ the template and additional careful measuring, I needed to trim just a small bit of plastic around the holes to get them in, and a nice no rub fit. This is what the rubber escutcheons cover up for you; so there is a little wiggle room. My take on the "Cosmetic Only" statement is that the manufacturer is just covering there a$$, because they are not OEM. These bars are thick, heavy SS and are tig welded w/ beautiful full solid welds. I believe they are every bit as strong as the OEM, if not stronger. They bolt up exactly like the OEM, so why wouldn't they be? I installed them in our Coupe because they look simply bada$$, and gives me a place to mount the GoPro. Not going to be as strong as a real racing 6 point rollbar obviously, but a nice little mod.

I was referring to the link MrMiata posted, hence why I quoted it, but if Dina can 100% confirm he has those specific bars installed you will be fine...
