Roll bars.
Thank you coupe guys for never dreaming of hijacking this thread.
Obviously this is the Roadster and coupe section.
Why the hell wouldn't you put completely real and fully functioning rollbars in a coupe anyway?
Can we all sit around the campfire and sing Kum ba yah now?

I would never call the roll bars fake. They are constructed sufficiently to avoid injury in the case of a rollover (OEM anyway) or they wouldn't put them on the car in the first place.
I did however wonder why the coupe guys bothered putting them in. After reading some of the posts I can see the benefits, but personally wouldn't put them on if I owned a coupe. Seems to me like they would take up too much space that could be used to cram other things in. The roadster doesn't have this issue, plus they look good when the top is down. Thats what I like about the, the visual aspect, which you cant even get in a coupe because you can barely see them.

I still don't know if the Roadster roll bars are safe (the whole point of this thread) but we don't have much choice as that's how the car was built.
You coupe guy can put real roll bars in which is why I don't understand installing the fake ones.
btw, I use this font on all my posts but maybe shouldn't have gone with the 5.
Note to self.. Threads by The Beep are off limits. Any deviation even if generally on topic IE: Rollbars is not acceptable.
Additional note: installing rollbars in coupes is fake. Never mind they could stop the roof just enough to avoid spinal damage in a roll over accident.

I thought coupe owners installed them to tow skateboarders or long boarders in competitions.
Some of the after market sellers explicitly say they are for show only, so you take your chances using them in the turned turtle position.

I've gone back and fixed the post and promise never to upset a coupe guy ever again...but be forwarned, your days will be colorless and mundane without the beepster around.
LOL
I was basically saying this as that is what is on the sales ads for some of these bars. It may be a liability issue statement on their part though.
Lets face it, well designed roll bars would come with castering wheels on them.
