Thumbs up Special tool/locking tonneau cover

I have had 2 of my hydraulic cylinders start leaking(folding top, main cylinders). I haven't taken them out yet and I can get the up and down manually. My problem is were the special tool goes? The pictured diagram on the Forum shows the slot going left to right and mine goes front to back. I climbed up on the back (ladder) and, using a flashlight look in the slot. I could see no place for the 10mm special tool to go to unlock it, or in this case to lock it. I can raise or lower the tonneau and with the top cover locked in place there is no problem. What concern me is if I put the top down and drive along at Interstate speed is the tonneau cover going to blow up? Any insight on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Thumbs up Re: Special tool/ locking tonneau cover

"I see said the blind man to the beggar." I'll check out that location and yes I know about Klaus at Top Hydraulics. Have already set up an account with him, though I have not been verbal contact with him. I'll check out location for the wench today. Thanks all.

Roadster was missing top tool, ordered one from ECS Tuning. Received it today, nothing fancy but good quality. 10mm wrench on one end and 6mm allen on the other end. Has MB emblem and part # on it. Anyone missing one I recommend this one.

Better than the Ebay.. 75-100 bucks! Plus you get the needed allen wrench..

Damn. I have the original tool in my car, along with a metric hex key - but I LIKE that!

Searching was how I knew where to order it. Just wanted to say I was happy with it.

I spread this great news all over Facebook and credited George for the find.

(I don't know it all, but I know those who do.)

"Bored".. I'm just as entertaining to myself as I am in person!

As I picked up the wife's prescriptions today.. "you know.. you look like a really.. really.. I means super cool Sam Elliot."

Ever have a 25 year old pharmacy girl ever tell YOU that? Life is good..

No, but she is close to the mark on you, you just need to work on that deep voice like Sam's got a bit
