i bought one of them last year. You will need to cut 1 1/2" off the hex end to make the tool easier to use. The dremel with cutoff wheel did the trick.

1 1/2” seems a bit much.

I need to either buy or fabricate one of these, and for <$25 I cant see the point in fabricating one.

So, does it really need 1.5" cutting of the hex head?

(and thanks for sharing ala_xfire)

Your best bet is to get the tool and try it out first. The one I received was too long to maneuver into position. I simply cut half off and now is a whole lot easier to use.

Buy a tool that you need both ends and then saw it in half or just cut 1 1/2”, only one can be correct.

Well, that depends, if the hex part is 3" long, then you may saw that part in half and remove 1 1/2" at the same time

The hex bit on there DOES look awfully long. I use the factory tool and carry a hex key and I remember that the key just about fits and the 'elbow end' is maybe an inch long.

39 sold, 3 left as of one minute ago.. Typically, they go FAST when they pop up somewhere.

Yes, the hex part is too long. Shorten the hex bit to your liking.
