The convertible top rear window on my car has come unglued again. I brought it to the dealer last August under warranty to have it re-glued. Unfortunately it has come unglued again. This time out of warranty. I brought it to the dealer who says they can glue it again but it won't hold. New replacement tops are back ordered. I called Chrysler customer service for $$$ relief and was told they couldn't do anything until the part comes off back order. Searching the interenet I've found that this is a common occurence. The dealer speculates that the part is back ordered because Chrysler propbably owes them money. Does anyone know of an after market source for convertible tops? I'm not optimistic as I also read on the internet no one has one yet.

Sorry to hear about your issue. We have several Auto Upholstery shops around here. I'm sure you have them down there as well. Most car upholstery shops do convertible tops. If you're going to go that route you may want to re-think your color options.

 

Agree -- I'd find an upholstery shop who also specializes in ragtops. They'll probably do a better job re-gluing. Then continue pestering Chrysler for a replacement.

 

If my bad memory is correct, Karmann Germany is in bankruptcy, but Karmann USA located in the Metro Detroit area (Warren, Dearborn??) isn't. They make tops for many different cars and just might be able to help out on a Crossfire Roadster top. They were the ones to make it in the first place. In fact maybe they could be convinced to start suppling them directly to owners it would be a win win.

 

If the dealer fixed mine, and it broke again, they'd fix it again. ESPECIALLY if it was in the same spot as before.

 

I've heard they can be found on Ebay. But I would go the custom upholstery route.
