Default Better cup holder ideas?

I don't think many of us use the stock cup holder that comes with this car. It is small and is right where we rest our right arm. I like my huge 32 ounce drinks as well.

Does anyone have any ideas for a better cup holder that does not involve drilling a hole or otherwise permanently damaging the silver center console plastic?

Is it possible that the designer of the cup holder had the health of Crossfire drivers in mind and made it almost impossible to put drinks into the car, especially those in flimsy containers many of which have excessive sugar content?
Spilling 32 ounces of a sugar laden drink would be like a small tsunami in the car and after drying the car would be like a sticky fly paper.
No drinks in my car.

Cup holders in sports cars were outlawed by the design of the one in the Crossfire! It's time to buy a Minivan with 8 or 9 cup holders, a great automobile combo....

I built a copy of the 'Ultimate cup holder'. See this thread:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/interior/68380-high-end-cup-holder.html#post889011

I had to upgrade the plastic strap to a piece of strip aluminum. But it works really well for me. This bottle holder is very flexible so it accommodates a variety of cup shapes without crushing them. It holds them very steady and supports them high on the cup.

I don't know if it would hold a 32 oz cup but it might. I tried it on the drivers side but it interferes with my leg so I keep it on the passenger side. However it's very easy to reach.

I heated and opened up the center plastic piece when it was soft so that it would accept larger diameter containers than a bicycle water bottle.

Fantastic idea and it does not permanently damage the car, which was what I was looking for.

Thanks,
David

I forgot to mention I put friction tape on the aluminum strip so it stays more stable. The tape above it is some helicopter tape to avoid abrasion of the console with my travel cup. I also cut off the retaining nib at the top of the bottle holder. It's not needed for this, only when holding a bottle on the bicycle.

this looks like the one I bought $1.72 shipped. not bad
