Default BAS Group Buy?

Can anyone advise if there is a current BAS group buy for our tops? I have searched the forum but the last post on this I believe was in 2018.

Thanks,
PJ

I am not sure how to get this started as I believe Valk has orchestrated this in the past...but willing to learn!

Gary has never ordered a top, he's only had his Roadstser a year now.

Crystal Mathern and Dorothy Oshana on Facebook have been leading this. Gary and I just try to spread the word.
Well, 'cept this time, this time I was the first to order, back on June 21. The buys usually close in a week, but this time the orders just keep coming and BAS has left the door open.

We've bought a LOT of tops from them, gotta be over 60 now, maybe more than that.

Thanks pizzaguy, I sent Rebecca an inquiry but with the 5 hr time difference I don't suspect I will hear back from her until tomorrow. I am not a FB user so I hope that I can still get in on the group buy. I will update this thread accordingly for anyone else looking to replace their top.

All ya gotta do is say "I want to get in on the Crossfire Group Buy"....

I got my top in nine days, as I ordered first. We still have people waiting as of last week, who ordered that day. This is expected, they are a small company and every top is made by hand to order, in the color you want. So it may be eight weeks before you get yours, do not let that upset you. It is easy for us to overwhelm them. (I think this is why they have closed the group buy after they get so many orders....)

We've seen one top go bad right away, they shipped a replacement quickly. There have been no other issues that I am aware of.

Forum member John1780 may be interested in this group buy. Spoke with him a few weeks ago and he's in the market for a new 'hood'.

The Group Buy is still open! I just placed my "hood" order with Rebeca (Rebecca.web.bas@gmail.com) The process is simple and straight forward. You need to advise her where you live so they can quote the "carriage" (shipping charge) and she will quote you the price for the top + shipping. The retail price on their website for a hood is £504.00 our price is £400.00 plus the shipping, for me was £80.00; under $600 total at today's exchange rate. Your card is not charged until they ship the product. The manufacturing lead time is about 4 weeks plus transit time once it is shipped. Not sure what the web gibber age is, just ignore.

My tab was $638 including the $18.36 "currency conversion fee" Wells Fargo ripped me off for.

My credit union charged me a $3 fee on each of the two tops I bought.

I am sure I will have a currency conversion fee and the US dollars quoted were at today's conversion rate. It will be different when my top actually ships, hopefully not radically different than today's rate. I was just trying to note that the forum group buy costs are £104 less than their standard website price.

I see a lot of activity about purchasing new tops from BAS Group which are very high quality and a great price. After you receive the BAS product, do most of you install yourself or do you take it to your local installer?

I have watched the YouTube installation vids and I really don't think I have the expertise to install myself. I would appreciate any feedback from other forum members concerning self installation or taking BAS top to a local installer.....??

Collectively, I think we have bought close to 100 tops.

TO my knowledge, two people did NOT either:
Install it themselves.
or
Install it with help from other more experienced owners (like George!)

Expect to pay $300 to $600 labor for that job.

If I can do it, you can do it.
Minimal tools required, you will probably need to buy a $12 pop rivet set from Harbor Freight, rest is just pliers and drills and screwdrivers.
Good write-ups available along with videos.

I"m going to do mine, but NOT until the temperature at 3pm in north Texas is 80F or less.
THAT means I have 2-3 months to wait.

While my electronic/electrical knowledge and skill level are high, my mechanical skill level is "meh", but with help from the community, I think I can do this.
I managed to fix my leaky breather covers the first time. Sure, it took me 3-4 times as long as most everyone else, but I followed Max's instructions to the letter and took my time.
Three years later, not a DROP of oil!

Unfortunately it is cheaper to buy a new convertible top than a new key, go figure.
