Stripping the Wheels
Did you have the stripes painted by a body shop, or do the work yourself? I would like to see a picture of the car with the wheels if you have a photo you could post. Thanks for any information you can provide.
Hi,
I did the stripes myself, they are not painted. They ar 3M pinstripe tape. They have been on for a few months are still look great. I will try to attach a photo hope it works.

Thanks for the photo and information, Al.
The wheels look nice and if you get tired of the stripes it should be easy to remove the tape. Does the 3M pinstripe tape adhere to the wheels fairly well?

Ohhh...STRiPING, not stripping the wheels. Haha, makes more sense now with the picture!
I'm not blonde, I promise! Just couldn't figure out what "stripping" the wheels was all about, lol.

I would love to have black or graphite colored wheels, but I haven't seen a wheel that I like yet. I love the Bullitt rims on the Mustangs - something like that would be cool on a black roadster...
To GIBSONJUNKIE: I'm with you. The best part on the new Mustang is the "Bullitt" wheels, wish we had a wider after market selection to choose from. Something more "retro" looking like American Mags offer. I just prefer 5 spokes over just about anything else. I never cared much for the Viper roadster until 1996 when they got rid of the 3 spoke wheels and put the GTS 5 spokers on, totally changed the whole car. Well at least it did for me.
You could always custom order a set of American Racing Torq - Thrust II's. They are nearly identical to the Bullitt wheel. You could go with 20 x 10 and 18 x 8. The backspacing should be workable, but the center bore diameter and lug pattern might be an issue.

I spoke to a dealer at a cruise in Monday night, and as soon as I told him it had a SLK lug pattern, his eyes glazed over, and he said I'd probably have to look else where instead of American.
