Default Automatic Top issues

Hello to all I have an issue with =
2005 SRT6 Roadster, Automatic Top won't go up correctly. I can get it back down and in the correct final position with the boot closed and no warning light. When I try to put the top up it stops about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up and stops, then I get the warning light and alarm/beeping. If I pause and continue to try and close the top will go too far and actual hit the top of the cowl/windshield. the back window is not in the correct position and the automatic boot is in the up position. I post this originally in the Technical section yesterday but I thought I would post here too.
Thanks to all for any help.

Sound like an issue with the sequence, I'd bet the alarm you hear is the Top Control module sending an improper cylinder position, due to a bad sensor, of course.
Has any work been done on the top ? Any chance a sensor was damaged of compromised in any way?

If you can provide a short video of how it acts, we can probably derive which sensor is failing to report correctly.

No I have owed the car since last August, no work on the top. I haven't had any issues with the top at all. No alarms, I thought it was slow and noisy but to be honest I have no reference on how fast or loud it should be. I have had the top up and down 30-50 times I have driven almost every week I had decent weather and the top down when I could and not seem crazy!
I have the top up and secure and will post a video on when and if it will open. I took the pressure of closed the top manually and used the 6mm allen to secure the Latch. Thanks for responding so quickly, I know that this the best fourm for any car group.

Have you checked the fluid level?

Fluid is way below the min line so I ordered Mercedes hydraulic fluid recommended by Top Hydraulics, they have great videos on our ragtop operation and troubleshooting on Utube. I will get back later when I get fluid back to full and see what happens next.
Thanks to all.

I asked that on your other post. Glad your getting fluid in there. Keep us posted?

So I was very lucky. The fuild Reservoir is now full I worked the top manually to get it to relearn or correct order of the sensors and working better than ever. I don't see a leak as of yet. It must have been really low when when I bought the car last Aug or when the new top was installed a year before I bought it? Is there a way to leave the tonal cover up to see if it leaks down? Pizzaguy thinks there has to be a leak and I fully believe in his advice! Any way again thanks to all who helped and I appreciate everyone and all the great tips and advice on the forum. Sun is out top is down and I'm on the road.

The only way it would get low is if there is a leak, 90% of the time it is the top cylinders. Top Hydraulics rebuilds them. They have videos on Utube describing the process. The leak is usually behind the side trunk lines. Sometimes you can smell the fluid.

I use a collapsible "Trekking Pole" to prop the lid up, when the pressure releases, the pole will hold it up.
