Convertable top Divider Switch Question
I just bought my first Crossfire - 2006 Roadster. The top does not operate and the red light flashes on the control switch. I suspect the idiot switch for the trunk divider is faulty. Is there any harm in permanently by passing the switch? Also, it appears there is a switch only on the driver side. The passenger side of the trunk divider does not appear to be wired. Is this correct?

the switch tells the top it's ok to retract, if the divider is up or you have things in the trunk it will probably result in damage, when the top goes in the storage position
To answer your question, only the driver side has a switch. Yes it can be bypassed but you risk lowering with something in the way if you haul things in your trunk. There is also a switch on the top rail over the passenger's right ear. It sometimes becomes stuck or dirty. Try moving it up and down with your finger.
Mine has been bypassed since before I bought the car in 2015. You can bypass it, but WATCH IT because if that divider is not up and some object moves into the path of the top, you can destroy an $800 top easily.
One way to verify if it is the divider or top open switch that ZERACER mentioned is to put the top down manually and THEN press the UP button. A top that goes UP but not DOWN is due to either a bad divider switch or a bad top open switch, those switches are not checked before the top goes UP, only before it goes DOWN.
Easiest troubleshooting technique there is.
