Default Three 2007 Roadster questions

Hello,

I have three 2007 Roadster questions would greatly appreciate any suggestions or guidance:

1. I purchased windshield wiper replacements at Costco (Michelin brand), size 20" and 22". The 22" passenger side one went in smoothly but I could not get the 20" driver side one installed, and neither could my mechanic. Any ideas?
2. Is there an off-the-shelf phone holder that doesn't have to attach to the air vents by clip or the windshield by suction cups?
3. Most importantly, the rear of the convertible top seems to be separating from the body. Is there a repair for this or does the top need to be replaced entirely? See this picture:

Thanks in advance for your assistance and advice.

1. No idea, it's a wiper blade - I don't see what the problem is. Perhaps your "mechanic" is a "mechanic" in name only.

2. I have the "Angled Dash Mount" in mine, I like it. Our choices are limited, as you know. I suspect others will have recommendations, so here is mine but wait for others to chime in.

3. Looks to me like someone replaced the top already and did not do a very good job, I suspect they neglected to use or seat the clips in back properly.

You have no indication of your location on your post/profile. This makes helping you harder, as I don't know who to recommend because I don't know where you are. We have Zach (Carolinas), Brain (FLorida), Bob (Kansas), Myself (Texas) and many others who work on these cars for nominal (and sometimes no) cost. If we don't know where you are, we cant help you. And I'm not in Forth Worth, but I"m close to it - no need to give an exact location.

Thanks, Pizzaguy. I probably should have provided more context. I am the original owner of a 2007 Roadster in Black, with 17,004 miles to date. The top has not been replaced--it is the original one. As to the wipers, I was really wondering if anyone had issues with Michelin branded wipers since the ones I replaced were Bosch branded ones.

I find it odd that the top did that on it's own. I've been here since 2009, owned three roadsters, am a member of MANY Facebook Crossfire pages, I go to many driving/social events held by our community -and yet, I have NEVER heard of the top doing that all on it's own. After someone replaces one, yea, if you dont get the clips in properly, it can do that (as the side seals can pop out unless you REALLY set them in right).

Are you SURE no one had tried to work on or 'fix' an issue with the top? This is a new one for sure.

Yes, I'm certain that no one has touched the top---there was never a need to. I'm the only person who drives the car and I put the top up and down frequently (down when I'm driving, up after I park). I will say that this summer, occasionally the top wouldn't go down. I did the usual resetting of the trunk shelf and that always solved the problem. The only other thing I'll mention is that the car used to be garaged but two years ago, I had to leave it outside. I don't know if any of this is relevant but I figured that more information is better?

I replaced my wipers with the Costco specials and had no trouble. Maybe you got a bad one.

The only thing I can think of is are the 2 wiper blades you bought at Costco the same design? There are multiple mounting designs available due to differences with manufacturers. Here's the link of the 20" Michelin wiper blade I get from Amazon:

Kinda interesting - when I went to the Michelin Automotive website & searched for Crossfire Wiper Blades, their website doesn't list any! And I know the above blade will work on the Crossfire!

If you have a BatteriesPlus store near you, they carry the Valeo Traditional Wiper Blades. Valeo was the OEM supplier of wiper blades for the Crossfire. The 20" & 22" blades are listed for $11.99 each on the website when I checked. That's a pretty good price! The Greemville SC store near me has both sizes in stock - Gotta remember to look when I need new wiper blades.

Thanks, dedwards2023 and James1549 for the suggestions.

Now if I could just solve my convertible top issue. This forum is terrific--I've always gotten great advice and guidance from you guys. Thanks again for your assistance.

Do a search online for replacing the Crossfire convertible top and there are instructions that show you the clips and how to get to them.

+1 on the Valeo wiper blades. I picked up a couple pairs from Tire Warehouse for $15/blade. I don't drive my cars in the winter and they are garaged, so I got 10+ years out of the first sets of Valeos that I installed...around 2009.
