This is my first appearance (so be gentle). I am in the Army and am retiring after 21 years. This was my retirement gift. I have always wanted a convertible roadster; V something with RWD. This fills my need. I grew up (18-26) in Germany driving Mercedes and have owned a few coupes in the past (CE's mostly). More recently I came from the Squirrel tail on your antenna Turbo's VW crowd. I think I am the only one in Hawaii.

I look forward to meeting you guys here in cyberspace and will try to minimize my newbie questions and maximize my search options.

Wow! Jess. That's what the ARMY gave you to leave?...You realize lots of us are going to "hate" you because of where you live. Well at least the mid Westerners anyway. Just having fun with Ya, hope you enjoy the Forum.

 

Welcome Jess, not only do you now own one of the nicest Roadsters on the road (happens to be my color as well), you live in the most beautiful place on earth. I've been there 3 times (going back again in December) and each time we go I tell my wife its getting harder to leave there than the time before. I may not make it back to NY this time. Where do you live in Hawaii, I assume Honolulu because of the large military population? What are your plans for your retirement? Can't imagine owning a Crossfire Roadster in Paradise, wow I'm jealous! Marc.

 

If it is any consolation I grew up in Minnesota, so I am very familiar with the midwest. Also the Army may have given me a great number of things...a new car wasn't one of them.


We just bought a house here in Kunia (by pearl harbor). We have been here for a little over three years and love it. I am transitioning to Satellite Communications. Really looking forward to the new job!

Jess,if you're originally from Minnesota, then you've "paid your dues" and you deserve to retire in Hawaii. (we don't hate you anymore!!)
