AMG Engine Plate
If you take the cover off your SRT6 engine, you will expose the blower. There is a flat area for a plate on top. On the SLK 320 AMG there is a plate that has info on the specific builder of the engine and Mercedes - AMG.

Chrysler advertises on their website "...The hand-built 3.2-liter supercharged V6 engine..." I think it would be cool to have a plate made to fit that had something like...

SRT6,
Your idea would be cool, but it would be even cooler if there was a way to find out the name of the technician that built our engines. I bet that AMG would be able to tell us the name of the technician if we were to supply the chassis number. What do you think?

If AMG will part with that info it would be great. That said, AMG is part of Mercedes. I am not sure they are willing to allow their junior partner to get that info. But, who knows, they did give us that beautiful engine.
I would be worth a try to get the info from AMG. Now the hard part, who would we contact for that?

The "nein" answer came in an email today.
"Thank you very much for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the Crossfire is a compete Chrysler Car. Therefore we didn´t offer any plates etc.
Please contact you dealership directly for any information about your car.
Sorry that we can´t help you herewith.
Kind regards,
Teresa v.Tippelskirch
on behalf of Mercedes-AMG GmbH"
Can't figure if they meant "complete" or "competing" Chrysler Car.
Perhaps the SRT6 engine is really made by foreign labor using counterfeit AMG parts from China...LOL

The engine plate would be correct with AMG - Affalterbach, Germany on it. The rest of the car is from Karmann but the heart came from AMG.
As for the response from AMG on the chassis number, that all goes right back to Chrysler being a step-brother of Mercedes. Our vehicles simply don't have the three pointed star.
These are not, nor will they ever be, AMG vehicles. We're kinda stuck in the middle as eternal stepchildren.

The fact that the did write "...Therefore we didn´t offer any plates etc..." would indicate that they at least acknowledge that they built the engine.
You'll probably find that they changed the suspension bushings too.
We had a problem with bad bushings on non-AMG cars and started using the harder AMG bushings to solve the issue. That practice became so rampant that MB put a restriction on the AMG bushings and started requiring VIN numbers for the vehicles.
I grabbed a bunch of VINs off eBag, Vehix, and Cars.com to get our supply up.

Wow, AMG exhaust hangers...are they supercharged? LOL
Blow up the image and you will see AMG cast into the blower at the back left side and look closely at the black blower belt bracket at the left front for the AMG logos.
Guess they think that means "American Muscle and Grunt".

AMG = All the Money you Got
AMG = Add More Green
That's a good picture. When you blow it up you can even read the part number on the black bracket.
I also gives a very clear shot of the supercharger clutch. The blower clutch is computer controlled to keep it from huffing full time. That make a nice difference in fuel economy. If you have a long stretch of empty highway and roll the throttle to the floor slowly, you may be able to feel it grab and go.

All,
There has got to be another way to skin this cat. Perhaps Chrysler would be willing to intercede on our behalf. I will try pursuing this avenue and will even pay a visit to my local Mercedes dealer this weekend. I'll let you know what I hear.
