Default E19 Recall

Had an interesting thing happen yesterday. I took the SRT in for its heat sensor etc, and when I took it home the car heated up more than before, oddly it got hotter as I went faster, and the fan sounded louder than the engine...
I stopped and had a tow back to the garage - It appears that the factory reversed the fan blade or maybe the motor...
Hopefully it didn't get too hot !!

So are you saying that this shop visit was to have the E19 update done to your car and it was done? Was it your original fan that did this or the E19 replacement fan?

Hi,
The new sensor relay had been wired in reverse... actually it pretty easy to know the fan sounds louder than the engine...

Cool Re: E19 Recall

For the E19 recall...only the cooling fan control module is changed.

Service Procedure (Continued)
8. Install the new fan and motor assembly onto the module frame and tighten the three nuts to 45 in-lbs (5 N.m).

Whatever the problem...the solution is to replace everything but the frame. What doesn't make sense is how the relay could be wired backwards following this procedure...the tech only has to disconnect an electrical wiring connector...and reconnect the connector. A problem implies that the bad fan is replaced with a bad fan, but the new bad fan can be fixed in the shop?? Scary.
