add my car to the IC Pump list...


Would you think this would be covered under the powertrain warranty? Of course my Stealership is trying to weasel out of this. I printed this entire thread and showed iit to them too. I wish violence was legal when dealing with anything car related.


I just called the general manager so hopefully that will do something.

Thanks!! It looks like it should be covered. they of course only replace the temp sensors at first. They said that wasn't covered, I didn't arguer with that because i thought that made sense.

 

i hear ya ,the tech at the dealer wanted to do the same thing went to a different dealer they ordered a pump for me ... once they replace the temp sensor take them for a ride .. get up some speed and they will see their was no change..

 

I'm just going to order the Johnson Pump.

I've read posts saying that it is a easy install. Would you guys recommend installing this by someone with limited auto skills? If not, can any reputable mechanic do this or is a MB mechanic a better choice??


On a positive side note.... I was venting some frustration last night and told my GF I have to order a "Johnson pump", and she said "You don't need one of those things baby". haha

needless to say was a very funny conversation that was needed, because Chrysler has been pssing me off quite a bit.

 

You can do it yourself. Order the bosch ford lightning pump, as it will be easier to install. You actually don't even need to disconnect the hoses, because you are using the same top. Just remove the screws from the top and the body of the pump will remain in the bracket. Remove it and reverse the procedure, then get the plug to wire into factory wiring. You should use hose clamps to pinch the hoses, to help keep the water in the lines and not on your garage floor. here's one but plenty others on ebay. Remember to get the plug or just use spades to plug into the bottom of the pump.

I'm finally getting my Johnson Pumped this weekend. I can't wait to have my baby back to full power.

I took my johnson out of the box this evening and handed to my mechanic....now he can play with my johnson until it improves my flow....

 

it is a super simple install, i would rather do it myself than to trust someone else with it.

i used the lightning pump and wire harness, it took all of 10 seconds to splice in the harness.

 

Oh??

I'm clueless so TVT is installing this weekend and that is what I was told??
