Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
Re-opening this ancient thread, since it seems to be the "account of record" on the problem.
Chalk me up as another victim of the failed pump. It failed about 13,500 - 14,000 miles.
This thread was instrumental in getting the problem fixed. My dealership admitted that, well, there was some note somewhere in the company records about this pump problem. "But..."
So I printed out the first 20 or so pages of this thread and left it with the car at the dealer. It was no longer "my car;" it was a changeling that had the acceleration of my 1974 New Yorker.
After about 4 or 5 days, I got my car back. I mean, I GOT *MY* CAR BACK! The one that I bought in the first place, the one with that provides the jaw-dropping power when needed. Fortunately, I still had time left on my power-train limited warranty, so the repair was covered.
Since this thread was so helpful, I thought I'd pay it forward. Here's the write-up from the dealer. Might be helpful if this problem happens to you.
