Default Problems with the SRT?

I own the limited coupe and was wondering if anyone has had any problems with their SRT. Because I may be upgrading this weekend to it, since I've been having problems with my limited. Oh and please wish me luck when I go to "make the deal".

I was in the same boat. Problems with the Limited then upgraded to the SRT. I'm having supercharger issues but I wouldn't trade the car for the world!

I have had no problems at all so far, but only 2,500 miles on it.

The only problem I keep experiencing with my SRT is I don't have enough open space to safely let it run like it should be able to run. This wonderful power plant just loves to be pushed and opened up, but its just the local cowboys and there radar that's in the way.

Otherwise I've had zero problems in the 3,400 miles I've driven.

Recommendation...don't let the initial test drive lul you into the decision. Take it for 15-20 minutes of GOOD driving until the temperature of the engine is in its standard operating range. See if you have good acceleration still. A few of us have been experiencing problems with the auxiliary water pump which has been making my car unsafe to drive when it warms up.

My wife's SRT-6 has been running great, and she's got a lead foot. So no supercharger and/or intercooler issues yet. However, I just scheduled an appointment for an obscure oil leak that is covering the protective plate under the engine. Seems to be coming from the back, right where the engine and tranny meet. Sure hope it's not the main bearing seal... But, we have the 7/70 super premium warranty that gets us a free rental car while they mess with the car... But, at only 2,800 miles, it's a bit disconcerting... I will be posting up a new thread to see if other SRT'ers might have experienced the oil leak. We do have a good SRT technician in my area at least... Sunnyvale Chrysler Dodge in Sunnyvale, CA.

I am also looking at upgrading to an SRT6 as well to...going to the dealership today to make the deal...had fun with the limited but got bored after awhile, need more HP...The SRT6 that I am looking at only has 2k on it for only 30k. I'm from Chicago and that is a steal here. I wouldn't worry too much about anything...that is why we have warranties...wish me luck.

Be careful with low mileage SRT-6's ... If it hasn't been officially titled before, check that it hasn't been one of the SRT Track Experience cars. Give "Danno" here a jingle and he will run the VIN number through a check (he works for a Chrysler dealer). If it was a track experience car, it may have been beaten pretty harshly during those 2,000 miles... At least you could get a better deal on the car. The dealer tries to pass them off as "an executive" or "demo" car... Ya, right... uh-huh... Make sure it passes this test. Danno will have an answer... PM him...

What dealer is it at?
I live in the Chicagoland area also, far southwest subs anyway...
If you don't here from danno, let me know, my wife works for DC and can look it up for you if she's not too busy selling cars to dealers. LOL

Thumbs up Re: Problems with the SRT?

16,000 hard miles and only the tranny seal at about 8k. Fixed by dealer under TSB. No other issues.

Talking Re: Problems with the SRT?

I have 11,000 miles on my SRT Convertible. No problem whatsoever. Not even a sneeze.

The cupholder still sucks though.
