Another cool feature I discovered today
I was driving home from work and just happen to bump the shifter to the right (up shift) while it was I was accelerating in "D" drive and it up shifted sooner then it would have normally.
So the next stop light I came to, I tried it, I took off in drive, held the pedal down like a normal take off and I up shifted it into each gear way earlier then it would have if I didn't hit the shifter...
I just thought it was cool and wanted to see if anyone else noticed that it does this while in drive.

Normally you would set it to "manual" mode if you wanted to shift instead of the auto. Before starting, you flick the stick to the left. The LCD shift indicator will then display 1 instead of D. As you flick the lever to the right to shift the LCD will change to 2, 3, 4 and finally D (5). To reset to full auto mode, just hold the lever to the right longer and the LCD on the dash will stay at D.
My BMW did the same thing in the manual mode, except the shift motion was N/S instead of E/W. Depending on which direction you are traveling. LOL

I think what eracer76 is saying that he feels it shift even quicker when left in fully auto (D) than when starting off in manual mode. Correct?
Right...
I know how the auto stick feature works. But what I'm saying is, when left in "D" Drive, it shifts on its own like a normal automatic without touching the shifter.
But I didn't know that while in "D" automatic mode, you can still up shift manually and do it sooner then it would normally shift on its own, all while staying in "D"
