I just bought my srt-6 like 4 days ago. I noticed that when it's in manual mode if i come to a stop on the dash it still says it's in 4th, but takes off from 1st. Is this normal or what? It also will shift out of 4th to 5 and still say 4. I mean the car is brand new...i picked it up with 275 miles on it. Which I don't know why it had so many but hmm I don't know what's going on. Could someone let me know?

38k is too much, what year is it ?...I paid only 30k for my '05 SRT6 with only 1,500 miles on it.

 

Srt-6's are only '05's.

 

Everything you described is normal. If you manually put it in 4th, then slow down enough, it will downshift automatically and then as you accelerate it will upshift. Once back in 4th it will shift to 5th when you redline, instead of shifting before redline in normal D mode.

 

he probably paid $33,580 for the car and got the 75k mile warranty and tax, tag, and title make this a $38K out the door kind of deal.

not a bad price for the car, it is definitely fair for what you get. the $28k and lower cars are gimmicks to get you on the lots. but straight forward he didn't get a bad deal. especially if he likes the car like we all do...enjoy, and drive it like it was meant to be driven.
