Default SRT S/C pulley?

Just wondering but have any srt6 owners here managed to install a different supercharge pulley yet?

If so what psi are you at over stock pressure?

You can't change the super charger pulley as it has a electrical clutch on it like an automotive air conditioning compressor does.

Only way that I'm aware of to change the pressure boost is to change the crank pulley for a larger one (overdrive) and then smaller one for the other accessories (underdrive).

I was looking into the EvoSport set, but the truly affordable one has a solid lightweight crankshaft pulley without a harmonic balancer (NOT a good idea). The other set they have that includes a harmonic balancer is nearly $2,000.

Unless you have or will be tuning your ECU, you will not see much gain per $ for the boost change.

The Upsolute tech I spoke with recommended getting the pulley change in addition to the ECU upgrade as it would help fully realize the ECU change

MMZ is right, you can't really change the supercharger pulley due to it being clutch activated.
I have the Renntech performance kit on mine, it was $3,000 and comes with the pulleys and a reprogram of the ECU.
Here is a whole thread on the subject with pictures of my kit.

Eracer76, Just curious, Why didn't you go with Evosport, that has the same kit for around $2,500? Is there something that you feel is better about the Renntech kit.

I believe he answered that in the thread he linked, but i personally am about to order the renntech kit as well... why renntech over evosport even though evosport is cheaper and is likely to give a larger performance gain?
It is because renntech is a proven company and they warranty their work, but evosport on the other hand has some mixed reviews on the mbworld forums...

Well I haven't seen the reviews, but they do have a dyno result for there pulley kit, which is 36 hp gain at the wheels and as far as warranty, a pulley kit is not rocket science, it is just someone taking the R & D time and money to make some pulleys. There is not much that can go wrong with a pulley kit and the pulleys by far, yield the biggest gain, even without an ECM upgrade for the SRT6.

Evosport at the time did not have a dampened crank pulley like the stock one and Renntech did.
Evosport had mixed reviews about the pulley issue on most of the MB forums I was searching on.
Renntech had no unhappy customers that I could find on those same forums.
Evosports package with the ECU program is $2,850 if I remember right, without a dampened crank pulley...
now I see they have a dampened pulley upgrade for $999. Or just a pulley kit for $1,999 without the ECU program.

The Renntech kit is only $3,000 for the Crossfire SRT-6 and it comes with a dampened crank pulley along with the other pulleys and ECU program.
So that's why I just chose Renntech.

Evosport does have the dampened pulley now and there kit includes all the pulleys. The dampened pulley that the SRT6 comes with from the factory is the band style, which has proven to be useless in any dampening abilities. So Evosports non-dampened pulley would not have added any risk. Evosports new dampened pulley is the suspension type design which is a very effective dampener and gives the engine much better imbalance dampening than the factory dampener. I assume that Renntech uses the same design as Evosport (2 piece suspension style)?

There are different style manufacture harmonic balancers out there. One style being better than the other? I wouldn't say that, if it does what it's designed to do. Rubber, fluid, or other internal components, as long as it does the job is ok with me. I have the Renntech computer and pulley upgrade on my SRT. I also looked at warranties, support, track record, etc. They have been around a long time doing the Mercedes thing. There were no surprises, However, whoever sells these kits should make available the flywheel locking tool with the kit, or have a core charge to let you use it and return it. Also, if the balancer bolt exceeds a certain length (stretch), the factory service manual requires replacement of that bolt, so include one with the kit. It took a 5 ft bar on the balancer pulley bolt to get it loose. And that same 5 ft bar to tighten the bolt back to the factory spec.

Just use an impact with a torque limited socket. It comes right off and then tightens only up to the set torque.
