Default Should I take the plunge??...

Well, I've been heavily debating whether to get an SRT6...Winter is coming and all...I really want to upgrade from my 01' R/T Stratus, but am unsure if I want the payments. I guess my question is, is it worth it? Now, I have seen a few SRT6's for around the 26-29K area which IMO is a steal considering they were 45k new...So what does everyone think, should i just say eff it and get one? I'm scared if I drive one, I will end up going home with one. Hmmm, decisions decisions.

Well it's up to you whether you want to spend the $$...but the SRT6 will be a HUGE upgrade over the stratus.

Not knowing where you live, or how bad your winters are, it's hard to say. I know I wouldn't want the Crossfire to be my "only" car for winter driving here in N.E. Ohio. But that's just me. Some people on the forum drive em year round in snowy conditions so it's pretty much a judgment call.
Since you've been driving front wheel drive in the winter, it's going to take some getting used to rear wheel drive again.
I too have purposely not driven an SRT for the very same reasons that you mentioned. I'm very content with my '04 6 spd. and it might take only one ride in an SRT to change all that for me too. Especially with the "give-a-way prices an SRT can be had for. There is nothing else out there that even comes close to it for the price.
Good Luck with your decision.
By the way, I had a '69 Cuda myself a while back. Is yours a FB, coupe, or convert.?

I live in Southern NJ (20 min southeast of philly) and the winters here can be tricky. I suppose I could keep the R/T, but I was looking to just sell it and put that as the down payment. I also have a 89' suburban, but its a POS and I hate it! LoL. I'm actually looking to upgrade that as well, but...Yes, I do want a high performance machine. I like the crossfire because you don't see them everyday and it seems like a really nice piece. Can anyone give me an idea of what the insurance would be like? I am 28 male with a perfect driving record...Right now im paying about $430 quarterly for both the R/T and Suburban. Just wondering how much it would go up if any...Thanks.

@+Fireamx
Cool! I have a fastback. I would put a pic up right now if it weren't giving me an error. hmmm I'll try later when i get home.

If you like your 'Cuda, you will LOVE an SRT6!... just get a Sprint Booster to release the hidden torque.

What a great car, '69 fish! What kinda 1/4 mile times does it run?
I learned to drive a std in a '68 with a 273!
My son and I have a '74 Cuda clone.

distantpulse,

If you decide to take the plunge and buy a Crossfire, you should go all the way and buy the SRT-6. The performance difference between the SRT-6 and the Limited is incredible yet the price difference, especially in today's buyer's market, is not significant. I sold my 2003 BMW 330i and bought the SRT-6 and did not notice a significant change in my insurance premiums. Wish I could say the same thing when I added my 16 year old daughter last month.

Thanks, Yeah that's my baby! I actually had a 273 in it a while back! What a great little motor that was! It ran strong at 14.20's pretty much stock with headers (open). The best time I've turned with 340 combo was 11.6's, but she left like a bear! 1.60 60 ft! The new motor I have sitting on the stand should put it well into the 10's. That should be a fun ride! I'm just not sure those 27x9.5 hoosiers in the back are gonna like it...lol.
