Default 0-60 in what? exactly?

Not so much of a technical question thread, but more of a question about what is the 0-60 range you have heard on this car..?

My recent low was stated here:

http://www.virgeweb.com/rage2/misc/c...erslk32amg.wmv

It states that the slk32 does 0-60 in 4.5, in this came a similar number would be applicable to our car...the manual states 0-60 in 5.3 and most sites state 4.8... these numbers are very far in between.. i just found that a little um...well you know...

Anyone else notice these inconsistencies... most cars have 0-60 stated differently by different magazines and reviewers, but a .8 difference is huge...on a second note they state that is slightly faster than the vette made at the time of the video... which is always nice to hear..., but i think their times are a little off.

I read that it is 4.9 - 5.1 seconds. Which seems about right for mine.

This site, which lists hundreds of cars, shows 5.1:

no mean to offend but "seems about right"? do you really believe that you can tell the difference between 4.9 and 5.1 or do you have a method of tracking it... cause i honestly can tell you that it may be my lack of experience or perception but i would never be able to tell the difference unless it was shown to me in some kind of test and.. then and only then... will i feel the difference, but only psychologically...

the SRT6 is a 5.3 or 5.4 second car, and the Limited 6 speed is a 6.1 to 6.4 second car. I'm not sure where you get those figures for the SLK32 or if they are legit, being the SLK32 has a time of 4.5s and puts out about 350 hp to the crank compared to the SRT6 which is 330hp at the crank. It's kinda hard to believe that 20 more hp can bump a cars 0-60 time that much.

Hard to say exactly in any car really. First of all it's all about power to weight. The roadster weighs about 90 lbs more than the coupe. (btw the crossfire has about 90 lbs of extra body and chassis reinforcement over the slk I've driven the slk and the srt6 is tighter). Then figure in how much the driver weighs (I weigh about 155 lbs) and how much gas is in it ( gas weighs about 8 lbs a gallon) The lighter the car, the more all this matters. Also, air density (altitude) and temp affects a blown motor more. The srt6 has 19's in the rear, the slk has 18's.
